Comment compare-t-on la performance de la productivité canadienne à celle des États-Unis? Quelle était l'incidence du récent rebondissement de la productivité au Canada sur la prospérité? On conclut, dans cette étude, qu'il est possible de comparer favorablement la croissance de la productivité multifactorielle canadienne durant la fin des années 1990 à celle des États-Unis. Les industries utilisatrices des technologies d'information ont largement contribué à ce regain de vitalité de la productivité canadienne. Fait à noter, le niveau de vie canadien s'était beaucoup amélioré, surtout en raison de la hausse du taux d'utilisation du travail.
