Since mid-2021, we have diligently monitored and analyzed global scientific efforts in tackling COVID-19. Our comprehensive global endeavor involves collecting, processing, analyzing, and discovering COVID-19 related scientific literature in English since January 2020. This provides insights into how scientists across disciplines and almost every country and regions have fought against COVID-19. Additionally, we explore the quantification of COVID-19 problems and impacts through mathematics, AI, machine learning, data science, epidemiology, and domain knowledge. The book reports findings on publication quantities, impacts, collaborations, and correlations with the economy and infections globally, regionally, and country-wide. These results represent the first and only holistic and systematic studies aimed at scientifically understanding, quantifying, and containing the pandemic. The outbreak of Covid 19 pandemic put in a burden on almost all the areas including health-care systems, education, life style, aviation throughout the world. This outbreak revealed the world''s poor health system and has had a negative influence on healthcare personnel in every way. Because they came into touch with infected people on a regular basis, became more prone to COVID-19 infection than the general population. The virus is able to attack not only the respiratory tract, but almost all the organs including brain. Impacts on gut biota have also been noticed. This caused both morbidity and mortality in humans without any geographical, cultural, religious barriers. The emergence of new variants due to mutations in the virus has aggravated the problem. Whereas delta variant brought in second wave was very disastrous killing a large number of people due to various factors such as lowering of saturated oxygen in blood and other physiological emergencies. The omicron variant has proved to be less lethal. Though the pandemic has subsided, the emergence of sub variants BA1 and BA2 and now their hybrid have started giving horror feelings in many countries. The increase in the number of cases at exponential level has forced many states in China to impose lockdown. As the conditions laid down to combat the pandemic have been relaxed, and movements from one part of the globe to the other have started, the virus may reach other countries and the make people to suffer with pandemic forcing those countries to resort to lockdown again. Covid 19 sparked the minds of scientific community to make all out efforts to delineate the structure and functions and its mechanistic approach to cause disease in humans. Besides, attempts to develop new drugs, they made sincere efforts to repurpose the available drugs to be used against the virus and develop a series of vaccines in a shortest period, not possible in the normal times. The mild effect of omicron might have been due to the extensive vaccination programmes carried out in various countries. There is, however genuine fear that the new emerging variants may evade the immune system and cause damage to the body. The rapidly growing demand on health facilities and health care employees threatened to overburden some health systems and render them unable to function properly. This had a direct impact on health care professionals. All the energies in the nations world over focused on controlling the transmission and curtailing morbidity and mortality due to the pandemic. Despite all the complexities and hardships that health care employees faced, they continued to put in their best efforts in serving the community and society at a large. The present book highlights the impact of covid 19on science, health and health care system. The chapters included in the volume are hard work of dedicated experts in the field. These include the description of insight of the evolution, structure and mode of infection as well as strategies to attack various organs in the body. Moreover, these social-psychological impacts may have long-term repercussions that will likely outlast the epidemic. Globally, the physical impacts of COVID-19 may be felt. The influence of Post-COVID-19 on mental health is a subject that has not been well explored. The reaction to the Covid-19 pandemic may resemble the response to natural catastrophes or other comparable catastrophic occurrences affecting a community and may create chronic anguish in the afflicted population. The psychological reaction to the Covid-19 epidemic has been immediately recorded; in communities rarely affected, it resembles symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The unfavorable psychological effects of COVID-19, such as anxiety and depression, have been widely expected but have not yet been precisely quantified. Data science enables academics to evaluate the past and future consequences of mental diseases on the United States and worldwide populations. When the consequences are defined and substantiated by statistics, the argument for allocating much-needed resources to mental health research and treatment accessibility is strengthened. Using data science approaches, the book contains chapters describing the influence of post-COVID-19 psychological impacts.
