Book excerpt: When our Lord says, "Be still, and know that I am God" (Psalm 46:10), what does He mean? God's Word promises that in whatever kind of storm we find ourselves in, Jesus always comes to us. In Be Still and Know, unpack the promises found in Psalm 46 that are fulfilled in Christ. The first session looks at Psalm 46 in detail and examines storms of life. Then, in the following seven sessions, study narratives from the Gospels as Jesus meets various women who are experiencing their own storms and explore the perspective of each woman as He provides refuge, strength, help, and hope. Looking to the biblical and cultural contexts will allow you to better grasp the depth of Christ's care, purpose, and attention to every need. In the midst of today's storms, may God reveal His refuge for us in Christ, the one who has overcome the world.

Download or read book Your Faith is Your Fortune written by Neville Goddard and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2012-11-20 with total page 86 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Your Faith Is Your Fortune by Neville Goddard.Man can decree a thing and it will come to pass.Man has always decreed that which has appeared in his world. He is today decreeing that which is appearing in his world and he shall continue to do so as long as man is conscious of being man.Nothing has ever appeared in man's world but what man decreed that it should. This you may deny; but try as you will you cannot disprove it for this decreeing is based upon a changeless principle. Man does not command things to appear by his words which are, more often than not, a confession of his doubts and fears. Decreeing is ever done in consciousness.Every man automatically expresses that which he is conscious of being. Without effort or the use of words, at every moment of time, man is commanding himself to be and to possess that which he is conscious of being and possessing.

Download or read book Torn to Heal written by Mike Leake and published by Cruciform Press. This book was released on 2013-05-01 with total page 72 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: God is radically dedicated to our ongoing growth in spiritual maturity and holiness. This is both glorious and terrifying. It is glorious because the Lord of heaven and earth is for us. But it is terrifying because we are idolaters. This means that when God brings greater redemption into our lives he also brings a death sentence to our fallen desires. In love, God will do whatever it takes - even tearing us to shreds if necessary - to replace our feeble pleasures with lasting desire for himself. Sadly, in our culture two false responses to suffering have become deeply embedded in the Church: deadly dualism and shallow stoicism. Each can effectively hijack God's good purpose in suffering. Torn to Heal equips us to understand and reject these false and self-defeating approaches to suffering, and to embrace God's good purpose in our trials.

This book was released on 2019-12-07 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: No one escapes this life without heartbreak, emotional pain, and suffering. God promises to heal your wounded, scarred, broken, and shattered heart. Counseling, therapy, and even medications have limits on the depth of healing they can provide. Sometimes only a direct, intimate, specific, supernatural word from the Sovereign Creator of the universe can heal an emotional wound. We have a role and responsibility in our healing relationship with Jesus. God cannot heal us without our active participation, beyond even prayer. We must place ourselves in the proper spiritual and emotional position to receive God's healing word into our hearts. That position is Biblical stillness. When God commands us to "be still," He is serious. God wants us to be still according to His definition of stillness. "Being still" does not come naturally, but we can learn specific strategies and techniques to move into still space. From that posture, we can receive the gravitas of His word that heals us immediately.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Closer Look III is the third in a series of a collection of morning and evening Christian devotionals. They were developed from the Lords inspiration during times of personal prayer and Bible study. Included in this series are a number of devotions on the longest chapter in the BiblePsalm 119. It contains twenty-two parts. Each of the twenty-two parts aligns in order to the letters of the Hebrew alphabet (Aleph, Beth, Gimel, etc.). The reader will note that several terms appear multiple times throughout the entire Psalm. These terms include commandments, judgment, law, precepts, statutes, testimonies, Word (Gods Word). In all, these terms appear 132 times throughout this Psalm. King David penned Psalm 119 to highlight Gods sacred character and his great love for man. These devotions are intended to encourage the reader to take a closer look at Gods Word during daily quiet times in the presence of our Lord. They can be read over the course of a month and then repeated in subsequent months. As an alternate method of study, the reader may choose to review the table of contents for a topic that may be of interest or review the scripture references at the end of the text to locate those devotions that may include a favorite verse.
