Book excerpt: El tema que se ha propuesto desarrollar en esta investigación aborda las técnicas y herramientas de los sistemas de gestión ambiental en las industrias gráficas para el manejo y control adecuado de los residuos. El problema de investigación que se intenta responder son los beneficios y limitaciones que traen la implementación de dichas técnicas en la industria antes mencionada. El trabajo está compuesto por seis capítulos. En el primer capítulo se presentan las principales nociones conceptuales acerca de las técnicas y herramientas necesarias para reducir la contaminación ambiental. En el segundo capítulo se realiza un análisis de los procesos de producción y materiales que se emplea en la empresa en estudio. En el tercer capítulo se muestra la situación actual de la empresa sobre la emisión de residuos producidos en el proceso de producción. En el cuarto capítulo se muestran las soluciones, costos y beneficios que trae la implementación de dichas técnicas en la industria en las que nos hemos centrado. En el quinto capítulo se desarrolla los temas de seguridad y salud ocupacional. En el sexto y último capítulo se desarrolla la normativa legal aplicada a la realidad nacional. De este modo, se llega a la conclusión de que el uso de las técnicas de los sistemas de gestión ambiental aplicadas a las industrias del sector gráfico para el adecuado manejo de los residuos representan una disminución en los niveles de contaminación producida por los procesos industriales de las mismas, así como una mejora en los márgenes de ganancia y una reducción en el costo operativo de las empresas.

This report specifically reviews the evidence on the potential mechanisms by which smoking causes diseases and considers whether a mechanism is likely to be operative in the production of human disease by tobacco smoke. This evidence is relevant to understanding how smoking causes disease, to identifying those who may be particularly susceptible, and to assessing the potential risks of tobacco products.
