Book The Great Prophecies Concerning the Gentiles the Jews and the Church of God

Download or read book The Great Prophecies Concerning the Gentiles the Jews and the Church of God written by G. H. Pember and published by CreateSpace. This book was released on 2015-09-14 with total page 256 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Today's prophecy students continue to benefit from the insightful and biblical writings of 19th-century theologian George H. Pember. Though "Earth's Earliest Ages and their Connection with Modern Spiritualism and Theosophy" is Pember's most well-known work, this work, "The Great Prophecies Concerning the Gentiles, the Jews, and the Church of God," is just as edifying. Pember wrote of the purpose of his book when stated, "...for we do not propose to speak, in the present volume, of the Last Week, the Millennial Age, and the Final Judgment. We have considered the great Gentile and Jewish prophecies in order that we might better understand the times of the Church, and we have traced the career of the latter, until we left her in heaven with her Lord." Pember begins with a study of the sign of the times, the seven dispensations, three lines of prophecy, and the three prophetic periods. He then turns his attention towards exegeting the relevant Old and New Testament passages to show how God revealed the rise and fall of nations through prophecy. In the second half of the book, he turns his attention towards the teachings and parables of Christ in the gospels concerning the end times. The book concludes with an in-depth study of the seven churches in Revelation and the rapture. God's love and everlasting covenant is a thread that runs throughout the book. Decades before Israel became a nation, Pember spoke with confidence about the restoration of the Jews to the land promised them by God. While authors of more recent books have the benefit of hindsight, a study of Pember's work reminds the reader that God has made clear his plan in scripture. More so, the reader will be encouraged to to recognize that He is faithful and sure to carry out His will in every age and circumstance.

Book The Times of the Gentiles a Study in Daniel

Download or read book The Times of the Gentiles a Study in Daniel written by Norman Mellish and published by . This book was released on 2010-03-01 with total page 216 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It has pleased God to put in place governmental authority within the whole of His creation. There are realms of authority in heaven which is clearly taught in the word of God, and when God created the world He placed Adam in control of the earth even before sin. He was crowned with glory and honour and set over the works of God's hands. After the fall the Lord still required for the earth to be governed and it pleased Him to put the rule of the world into various hands until Israel were given the supreme place to hold this world for God. Because of their failure to be faithful to the Lord they were removed from power and the government of this world was placed in Gentile hands, this was under Nebuchadnezzar and is recorded for us in Daniel Chapter 2. This began the "Times of the Gentiles" The main thrust of the book of Daniel is to reveal the end of Gentile rule and this is the purpose of the book as seen in the four prophecies revealed to Daniel himself from chapters 7-12. In these tremendous revelations the Lord is unfolding the rise of the final world despot who will move in opposition to God, and under Satan will corrupt humanity as he brings men into rebellion against God. In these chapters we see the rise, the character he bears and the control he will manifest during the tribulation period. There is more said in the word of God about this coming "Man of Sin" than any other person beside Lord Jesus, and the book of Daniel takes a leading role in revealing what God says about him. As there are many who would study the prophetic truths I trust this addition to the many volumes written on the subject will prove helpful to understand the mind of God. The volume does not follow in detail all that has been written by others but it has been written after many years of careful study and I trust that those who peruse it will at least give it some careful thought. May the Lord use this to encourage others to study the subject and discern the mind of God in those things which He has revealed.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Although there is broad consensus among Bible prophecy scholars that the times of the gentiles will continue until the return of Jesus Christ, the century-old, traditional interpretation holds that Daniel's fourth, gentile kingdom (the Roman Empire) ceased to exist in AD 476 in the West at Rome and, therefore, must be "revived" politically in the beginning of the seven-year tribulation period. That prevailing viewpoint is obscuring a clear understanding of the continuing existence of the fourth kingdom as well as its fulfillment in history of important prophecies related to the end times. Peters forewarned about this potential interpretation problem in The Theocratic Kingdom (1884). Daniel's Fourth Kingdom: (1) establishes that the divided Roman Empire still exists today and explains why that fact matters regarding the season of Christ's return; (2) respectfully questions the traditional interpretation; (3) exhorts the church to love not the temporal kingdoms of this world but, instead, to embrace her gospel-inspired, Holy Spirit-empowered, love-driven, apolitical, evangelical mission to share the gospel with all nations while expecting the possibly imminent pretribulation rapture; and (4) invites all readers, believers and skeptics alike, to consider the relevance of the Bible concerning world history, current events, and the future.
