Book excerpt: Introduction : Au cours de leur formation, les étudiants en troisième cycle de spécialisation en médecine générale bénéficient obligatoirement d'un stage clinique en structure d'urgences. C'est dans ce contexte que nous leur proposons un enseignement spécifique. Matériel et méthode : Cet enseignement a été construit en suivant le plan d'une organisation d'enseignement. Résultats : L'évaluation des besoins a été réalisée par les praticiens séniors de la structure. La formation se déroule sur un semestre type en prenant en compte l'indisponibilité des intervenants comme des étudiants. Nous avons proposé des ateliers de gestes, des séances d'enseignement dirigé et un enseignement sous forme de compagnonnage au quotidien. La formation est évaluée par les participants qui bénéficient d'une évaluation en fin de semestre. Les cinq à six étudiants en stage dans la structure doivent tous assister aux 15 séances de formation proposées. Les finalités, le programme, les modalités pédagogiques et docimologiques sont détaillées dans ce chapitre. En annexe sont proposés des exemples de cas cliniques et le programme détaillé de certaines séances. Discussion : La discussion porte sur les choix méthodologiques, de la population cible, des thèmes abordés et de leur répartition. Enfin, on aborde les perspectives d'évolution portant essentiellement sur le choix de la population cible, sur le choix des thèmes à aborder ainsi que sur l'intégration des autres enseignants de la structure.

As is stressed in the Global Strategy on Human Resources for Health: Workforce 2030, there can be no viable national, or global, health system without an effective health workforce. The Global Strategy, adopted at the Sixty-ninth World Health Assembly in May 2016, challenges the erroneous narrative of health workers as a unit of cost in the production of health. The evidence instead presents an intersectoral agenda on the pre-condition of equitable access to health workers in the attainment of universal health coverage, along with a dynamic labour market understanding of the substantive impact on education, employment, jobs and innovation in the health and social care economy. The Global Strategy, therefore, enables governments and other relevant stakeholders to adopt a holistic, rather than fragmented, approach to ensuring that the health workforce contributes both to improved health and to broader socioeconomic development.
