Download or read book Progettazione geotecnica e sismica 2 0 Volume 3 written by Maurizio Tanzini and published by Dario Flaccovio Editore. This book was released on 2022-07-04T00:00:00+02:00 with total page 342 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book Statics of Historic Masonry Constructions

Download or read book Statics of Historic Masonry Constructions written by Mario Como and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-14 with total page 596 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Masonry constructions are the great majority of the buildings in Europe’s historical centres and the most important monuments in its architectural heritage and the demand for their safety assessments and restoration projects is pressing and constant. Nevertheless, there is a lack of a widely accepted approach to studying the statics of masonry structures. This book aims to help fill these gaps by presenting a new comprehensive, unified theory of statics of masonry constructions. The book, result of thirty years of research and professional experience, through an interdisciplinary approach combining engineering, architecture, advances from the simple to the complex and analyses statics of a large variety of masonry constructions, as arches, domes, cross and cloister vaults, piers, towers, cathedrals and buildings under seismic actions.

Book Geotechnical Characterization Field Measurement and Laboratory Testing of Municipal Solid Waste

Download or read book Geotechnical Characterization Field Measurement and Laboratory Testing of Municipal Solid Waste written by Dimitrios Zekkos and published by Amer Society of Civil Engineers. This book was released on 2011 with total page 237 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The goal of Characterization, Field Measurement, and Laboratory Testing of Municipal Solid Waste is to fold the current understanding of the properties of municipal solid waste, and the challenges it presents, into adequate guidance for researchers and practitioners who work directly with issues related to waste behavior. This volume is organized into three parts. Part One is a review of the state of the art in some of the most critical properties of municipal solid waste. Part Two attempts to reach some consensus or provide some minimum requirements or recommended procedures for waste characterization. Part Three includes five opinion papers submitted by the invited panelists from the United Kingdom, Brazil, Canada, Japan, and the United States. This new book broadens the current understanding of waste mechanics and improves waste disposal practices both domestically and internationally. It will be valuable to researchers and practicing engineers in the field of waste mechanics. Geotechnical Special Publication No. 209 was developed from papers and discussions presented at the International Symposium on Waste Mechanics, which took place in New Orleans March 11 13, 2008. The symposium was sponsored by the Geo-Institute of ASCE.

Book Structural Analysis of Historical Constructions

Download or read book Structural Analysis of Historical Constructions written by Rafael Aguilar and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-08-18 with total page 2536 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume contains the proceedings of the 11th International Conference on Structural Analysis of Historical Constructions (SAHC) that was held in Cusco, Peru in 2018. It disseminates recent advances in the areas related to the structural analysis of historical and archaeological constructions. The challenges faced in this field show that accuracy and robustness of results rely heavily on an interdisciplinary approach, where different areas of expertise from managers, practitioners, and scientists work together. Bearing this in mind, SAHC 2018 stimulated discussion on the new knowledge developed in the different disciplines involved in analysis, conservation, retrofit, and management of existing constructions. This book is organized according to the following topics: assessment and intervention of archaeological heritage, history of construction and building technology, advances in inspection and NDT, innovations in field and laboratory testing applied to historical construction and heritage, new technologies and techniques, risk and vulnerability assessments of heritage for multiple types of hazards, repair, strengthening, and retrofit of historical structures, numerical modeling and structural analysis, structural health monitoring, durability and sustainability, management and conservation strategies for heritage structures, and interdisciplinary projects and case studies. This volume holds particular interest for all the community interested in the challenging task of preserving existing constructions, enable great opportunities, and also uncover new challenges in the field of structural analysis of historical and archeological constructions.
