Book Production Quality Control of Food from Sugarcane a Selected Study

Download or read book Production Quality Control of Food from Sugarcane a Selected Study written by Farzana Islam and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2013 with total page 76 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents the production process of sugar and molasses from sugarcane using several enzymes at optimal environmental condition e.g. pH, temperature, sugar concentration, incubation period, etc. And then the molasses is used as substrate (raw material) with the help of enzymes for the production of alcohol and vinegar. And the yield percentage of the products is related with various parameters during production. Besides, this book also provides the way how to maintain the quality of sugar, alcohol and vinegar properly for consumers before marketing. This study is intended to focus on -Carew & Company Ltd. which is situated at Darsana of Chuadanga District in Bangladesh. It was established by private entrepreneurs in 1938 and has a sugar mill, one Pharmaceutical unit under its ownership. Machinery & equipment of the sugar mill were supplied by M/S Blair's Ltd. of Glasgow U.K. It started trail production in 1938-39. This book will help the readers to know about production and quality control of sugar and distillery products.

Book Questionnaire of Sugarcane Quality Control

Download or read book Questionnaire of Sugarcane Quality Control written by Dr.B.S. Tomer, Vijay Singh and published by Notion Press. This book was released on 2016-08-10 with total page 205 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Questionnaire of Sugarcane and Quality Control is a combination of agricultural and chemical science. In agricultural and chemical sciences, all activities should be completed within a specified timeframe because time is critical for crop yield and quality of the final product. This book discusses activities aimed at yield increase and discusses planting to harvesting the crop as well as quality aspects from the sugarcane field to sugar manufacture. It is hoped that the book will serve as a repository of information and prove to be highly useful for sugar industry professionals, agriculture students and growers.

Book Sugarcane

Download or read book Sugarcane written by Fernando Santos and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2015-05-16 with total page 493 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sugarcane: Agricultural Production, Bioenergy and Ethanol explores this vital source for "green" biofuel from the breeding and care of the plant all the way through to its effective and efficient transformation into bioenergy. The book explores sugarcane's 40 year history as a fuel for cars, along with its impressive leaps in production and productivity that have created a robust global market. In addition, new prospects for the future are discussed as promising applications in agroenergy, whether for biofuels or bioelectricity, or for bagasse pellets as an alternative to firewood for home heating purposes are explored. Experts from around the world address these topics in this timely book as global warming continues to represent a major concern for both crop and green energy production. - Focuses on sugarcane production and processing for bioenergy - Provides a holistic approach to sugarcane's potential – from the successful growth and harvest of the plant to the end-use product - Presents important information for "green energy" options

Book A Glance at Food Processing Applications

Download or read book A Glance at Food Processing Applications written by Isıl Var and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2022-07-13 with total page 220 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Food processing is a part of the manufacturing industry. To serve a marketable food product there are several intrinsic and extrinsic parameters to consider that determine the specific processing design of each product. Food production should ensure a safe, environmentally sustainable, and adequate supply of food. This book presents a comprehensive review of food processing applications. Chapters address such topics as the effects of rice bran, corn fiber, and sugarcane bagasse on the quality of baked foods, honey production processes, the potential usage of pectin in food packaging, and agro-industrial wastes for packaging processes, and much more.

Book Sugarcane Biorefinery Technology and Perspectives

Download or read book Sugarcane Biorefinery Technology and Perspectives written by Fernando Santos and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2019-11-21 with total page 305 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sugarcane Biorefinery, Technology and Perspectives provides the reader with a current view of the global scenario of sugarcane biorefinery, launching a new expectation on this important crop from a chemical, energy and sustainability point-of-view. The book explores the existing biorefinery platforms that can be used to convert sugarcane to new high value added products. It also addresses one of today's most controversial issues involving energy cane, in addition to the dilemma "sugar cane vs. food vs. the environment", adding even more value in a culture that is already a symbol of case study around the world. Focusing on the chemical composition of sugarcane, and the production and processes that optimize it for either agricultural or energy use, the book is designed to provide practical insights for current application and inspire the further exploration of options for balancing food and fuel demands. - Presents the productive chain of sugarcane and its implications on food production and the environment - Includes discussions on the evolution of the sustainable development of the sugar-energy sector - Contextualizes and premises for the technological road mapping of energy-cane - Provides information on new technologies in the sugar-energy sector

Book Agro industrial Perspectives on Sugarcane Production under Environmental Stress

Download or read book Agro industrial Perspectives on Sugarcane Production under Environmental Stress written by Krishan K. Verma and published by Springer. This book was released on 2023-01-02 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This edited volume focuses on the core aspects of sugarcane production-management under stressful environments as well as innovative strategies for augmenting crop growth & productivity through intrinsic and extrinsic manipulations. The various chapters aim at bringing out comprehensive and advance information on different aspects of sugarcane cultivation under stress environments and impact of climate change on the sustainability of sugarcane production. The book encompasses information about crop production management, physiological & nutritional requirements, ratooning, ripening and post-harvest losses management. It also delineates various technologies that support the continued use and improvement of sugarcane as renewable source of food, fiber and bio-energy. The manipulations at cellular and molecular levels, molecular breeding approaches and post-harvest technologies are also included. The area under sugarcane cultivation is gradually increasing because of its diversification potential. The high productivity and biomass of the cane crop also makes it a key source for use as bio-energy crop and a promising raw material for bio-based agro-industries. However, poor crop & biomass productivity due to abiotic stress is the foremost constraint in its future commercial exploitation as sustainable feed-stock for bio-based industries. It is therefore imperative to understand the cellular-molecular modulation responsible to productivity barrier under specific stress situation(s) for better sugarcane quality and quantum under field condition. Some of these innovative approaches are delineated in this book. This book is of interest to progressive sugarcane growers, millers, industrial entrepreneurs, sugarcane scientists, cane development and extension officers, sugar industry managers and valuable source of reference worldwide.
