Book Catalyst Deactivation 1994

Download or read book Catalyst Deactivation 1994 written by Bernard Delmon and published by Elsevier Science & Technology. This book was released on 1994-01-01 with total page 678 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Catalyst Deactivation 1994 was an expansion of earlier, highly successful symposia. The objective of the symposium was to promote a scientific approach of the phenomenon of catalyst deactivation which will contribute to the development of catalysts which are less subject to structural transformations and more resistant to poisons and coke formation. These aspects are dealt with in 12 plenary lectures, 48 oral presentations and 35 poster papers, which were critically selected from an impressive response from some 30 countries. Both fundamental and applied aspects were covered. The deactivation of catalysts in important industrial processes like fluid bed catalytic cracking hydrotreatment, hydrodesulfurization, catalytic reforming, hydrodenitrogenation, steam reforming, hydrodemetallization, hydrocracking, Fischer-Tropsch synthesis, propane dehydrogenation, phthalic anhydride synthesis received considerable attention. Mechanisms of poisoning, sintering and coking were further investigated and modelled and new experimental techniques for the characterization and the quantification of deactivation were also introduced.--[Source inconnue].

Book The Activation of Dioxygen and Homogeneous Catalytic Oxidation

Download or read book The Activation of Dioxygen and Homogeneous Catalytic Oxidation written by D.H.R. Barton and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 503 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This monograph consists of the proceedings of the Fifth International Symposium on the Activation of Dioxygen and Homogeneous Catalytic Oxidation, held in College Station, Texas, March 14-19, 1993. It contains an introductory chapter authored by Professors D. H. R. Barton and D. T. Sawyer, and twenty-nine chapters describing presentations by the plenary lecturers and invited speakers. One of the invited speakers, who could not submit a manuscript for reasons beyond his control, is represented by an abstract of his lecture. Also included are abstracts of forty-seven posters contributed by participants in the symposium. Readers who may wish to know more about the subjects presented in abstract form are invited to communicate directly with the authors of the abstracts. This is the fifth international symposium that has been held on this subject. The first was hosted by the CNRS, May 21-29, 1979, in Bendor, France (on the Island of Bandol). The second meeting was organized as a NATO workshop in Padova, Italy, June 24-27, 1984. This was followed by a meeting in Tsukuba, Japan, July 12-16, 1987. The fourth symposium was held at Balatonfured, Hungary, September 10-14, 1990. The sixth meeting is scheduled to take place in Delft, The Netherlands (late Spring, 1996); the organizer and host will be Professor R. A. Sheldon.

Book Natural Gas Conversion

Download or read book Natural Gas Conversion written by A. Holmen and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 1991-05-27 with total page 585 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: These proceedings reflect the extensive fundamental and applied research efforts that are currently being made on the conversion of gas, in particular on the direct conversion of methane. The Symposium in Oslo focused on the following topics: Direct conversion of methane, Fischer-Tropsch chemistry, methanol conversion and natural gas conversion processes. The main aim was to present the state-of-the-art and progress currently being made within each of these areas. The book contains the papers presented and includes plenary lectures, short communications and posters. The papers will be of interest to scientists and engineers working in the field of gas conversion, transportation fuels, primary petrochemicals and catalysis.

Book Chiral Reactions in Heterogeneous Catalysis

Download or read book Chiral Reactions in Heterogeneous Catalysis written by V. Dubois and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It was a great honor for us to organize ChiCat, a symposium devoted to Chiral Reactions in Heterogeneous Catalysis and to be the hostsofmore than 120 scientists coming from everywhere in the industrialized world, to celebrate together one century of existence ofInstitut Meurice. This school was established in 1892when an industrial chemist, named Albert Meurice, decided to educate practical chemists according to the perceived needs ofthe industry ofthat time. This is exactly what we are still trying to do. It is the reason why, thirty years ago, we started a research activity in catalysis, and why we progressively devote this research to the applications of catalysis in the field of fine chemicals. In this respect, we are very close to another initiative of Albert Meurice, who started the first production of synthetic pharmaceuticals in Belgium during World War I. This business later on became a part ofthe Belgian corporation DCB, still very active in pharmaceuticals today. The school created by Albert Meurice merged in the fifties with another school that had been created to meet the same needs in the field of the food industries, mainly distilleries and breweries. This merger was done in the frame of the establishment of CERIA. For people in catalysis, ceria stands for cerium oxide, but for those who engineered the concept, CERIA stood for Center of Education and Research for the Food and Chemical Industries.
