Book Non Linear Raman Spectroscopy and Its Chemical Aplications

Download or read book Non Linear Raman Spectroscopy and Its Chemical Aplications written by W. Kiefer and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 623 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In recent years a number of non-linear Raman spectroscopic techniques have been substantially developed and are now proving to be powerful methods for the solution of many problems not only in spectroscopy but also in chemistry, physics and biology. These techniques include hyper Rayleigh and hyper Raman spectroscopy, coherent anti-Stokes Raman Spectroscopy (CARS), Raman Gain and In verse Raman Spectroscopy, Photoacoustic Raman Spectroscopy (PARS) and the Raman Induced Kerr Effect (RIKE). Hyper Raman spectro scopy although experimentally difficult is valuable for investi gating transitions which are not active in the infrared or in the linear Raman effect; and the other non-linear Raman effects can provide signal strength and resolution which are orders of magni tude higher than those obtainable with linear Raman spectroscopy. The thirty chapters in this book will form the basis of lectures presented at the NATO Advanced Study Institute in Bad Windsheim, F. R. Germany from August 23 - September 3, 1982.

Book Raman Spectroscopy In Human Health And Biomedicine

Download or read book Raman Spectroscopy In Human Health And Biomedicine written by Hidetoshi Sato and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2023-09-21 with total page 657 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since the inelastic scattering of light was predicted nearly 100 years ago, Raman spectroscopy has become a mainstay of characterization techniques, with applications in a vast array of fields from chemistry to materials science and nanotechnology, from forensics to geology and art. More recently, it has found usage in the life sciences, and this book hereby outlines the state-of-the-art advances in applications of Raman spectroscopy to human health and biomedicine. It covers a wide range of human health science including medicine (especially cancer), physiology, biological molecules, pharmaceutical science, cells, viruses, microorganisms, and food science. Another highlight is that it describes recent progress on various Raman techniques such as surface-enhanced Raman scattering, tip-enhanced Raman scattering, non-linear Raman spectroscopy, Raman microscopy, and Raman imaging. Novel spectral analysis methods such as chemometrics are also prominently discussed.

Download or read book Raman Spectroscopy written by Herman Szymanski and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-06-29 with total page 226 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Raman Spectroscopy, Volume 1, was conceived to provide integrated and comprehensive coverage of all aspects of the field by a group of specialists. However, in the three years since the first volume was published much important work has been done. Since Volume 1 was very well received, this second volume has been prepared in the belief that an extension of the coverage it offers will satisfy a real need in this rapidly changing and extremely interesting field. Any pretension to comprehensive coverage, however, had to be abandoned. In order to keep the material in a work of this nature up to date, a cutoff date has to be set. Inevitably one or two of the planned articles fail to materialize by this deadline, and other interesting topics may come into focus too late to permit the preparation of a worthwhile discussion by the target date. Still, in fairness to those authors who kept to the schedule, the cutoff date has to be enforced, even though this means sacrificing breadth of coverage to timeliness. I wish to thank all the contributors to this volume for their effort, their cooperation, and their punctuality, and it is my hope that the policy I have followed will result in the presentation of current thought on a series of interesting aspects of the subject of Raman spectroscopy.
