Book The Impact of Technological Complexity and Hybrid Relationships on Business Survival

Download or read book The Impact of Technological Complexity and Hybrid Relationships on Business Survival written by Kulwant Singh and published by . This book was released on 1993 with total page 502 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Few studies have examined the relationship between technology, organizational competencies and inter-organizational strategies within a comprehensive theoretical and empirical context. Most of the research that has examined organizational competencies and performance has either not addressed the potential impact of technology or has recognised its significance without undertaking detailed measurement and testing. Though limited competencies and technological factors are widely recognized as major influences on inter-organizational strategies, there is little empirical evidence of casual links among these forces. Though there is extensive literature on the concept of complexity and some recognition of the impact of complexity on technological systems, there have been no studies that have directly examined the relationship between technological complexity and corporate competencies. This study proposes to address these deficiencies by examining the relationship between technological complexity, the demands that such complexity imposes on firms and the effectiveness of inter-organizational collaboration in overcoming these demands. The central question that this research addresses is : What is the impact of technological complexity on firm survival?
