Fruits, syrups, sugars. Vitamines: for growth and health. Fresh fruit juices, eggs, butter, milk, coarse grains, greens and fresh vegetables. Especially citrus fruits. Inorganic Matter Mineral Salts: to build bone in children, to aid digestion and to make food palatable. Salt, good water. Spinach, carrots, onions, greens, raw lettuce and raw vegetables. Household Hints Wash the sink and drain pipes with boiling water every day and once a week, wash and drain with strong solution of washing soda (sal soda). The drain of the icebox may be kept free in the same way. To Remove Stains Blood Stains: Wash in cold water, then in warm water and naphtha soap. Bluing: Wash in boiling water using a little vinegar. If the stain persists, try oxalic acid or 10% solution acetic acid. Coffee: Stretch material with spot over a bowl and pour boiling water through it from a height of two feet. Cocoa or Chocolate: Try cold water and soap. If not effective, soak in cold water and borax and pour on boiling water as for coffee stain.
