Book excerpt: Mergers & Acquisitions and Partnerships in China provides a fast and accessible framework to external growth in China, and is an attempt to accurately describe the main operative conditions and in particular the most common pitfalls for foreign businessmen. The business cases in this book illustrate real business situations, including different outcomes and a thorough analysis of the reasons for success or failure of the case. The authors provide all the necessary tools to better master the negotiation and transaction process, and provide in particular, detailed explanation on the due diligence process and the regulatory framework to help readers successfully lead acquisitions in China. Book China s Mergers Acquisitions

Download or read book China s Mergers Acquisitions written by Huiping Zhou and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2012 with total page 80 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mergers and acquisitions are widely researched in the United States. The picture of M&A in China, however, is still vague. There are a large number of great companies in the United States growing to global powerhouse through M&A, which are rare cases in China. This book presents the current status of China's M&A from a holistic perspective through comparison with global M&A landmark. The author started from the enduring corporate strategy thinking, and then articulated typical M&A deal making process all the way through operational integration. The framework is well applied to compare two groups of companies, Ping An of China and Shanghai Fosun from China versus Cisco and the Bank of America from the US. The findings, quite interested indeed, imply significant lessons to Chinese firms as well as their counterparts in the US.

Download or read book Chinese M as in Germany written by Jan Y. Yang and published by Springer. This book was released on 2019-11-23 with total page 156 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Chinese companies have been increasingly active in outbound investment in recent years, with Germany the third largest destination in Europe. Adopting an analytical approach and utilizing case studies and expert interviews, this book examines Chinese mergers and acquisitions (M&As) in Germany, with a focus on the companies' business growth, particularly the integration process and subsequent growth after acquisition. The authors contend that Chinese investors take a different approach than their western counterparts, by fostering a long-term orientation toward their investments and placing greater emphasis on co-evolution with the acquired firms rather than transfer of knowledge back to China. This book offers readers a behind-the-scenes story of three separate M&A cases, shedding light on the growth models that ensue from mergers and acquisitions, and the endeavors of Chinese and German managers to grow the businesses together.

Book Chinese Acquisitions in Developed Countries

Download or read book Chinese Acquisitions in Developed Countries written by Alessandra Vecchi and published by Springer. This book was released on 2019-01-16 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book assesses Chinese acquisitions in developed countries, evaluates the drivers and opportunities and, above all, explores the major operational challenges. It discusses topics such as cross-cultural issues, integration strategies, risk and resilience, the influence of emerging technologies, servitization, impacts on reshoring, corporate social responsibility, branding strategies, knowledge management, and transfer of best practices. While emerging market multinational corporations’ (EMNCs) use of mergers and acquisitions as a strategic vehicle has received considerable attention, much less is known about their post-entry activities, such as the implementation of post-acquisition and integration strategies. It can be expected that, compared with their Western counterparts, EMNCs will face radically different challenges that may undermine the success of their products, brands and marketing. Addressing these issues by means of a case study approach, this book is an ideal teaching resource for a variety of courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. It also appeals to academics, researchers, and practitioners with a keen interest in manufacturing industry.

In The Global M&A Tango, international management experts Fons Trompenaars and Maarten Nijhoff Asser explain how to detect and manage these issues before they become major problems. Drawing on the world-renowned Trompenaars Hampden-Turner Cross-Cultural Database and Culture Compass, the authors illustrate how widely cultures can differ and, by reconciling the dilemmas created by that difference, how they can be integrated quickly, efficiently, and effectively. The Global M&A Tango helps you meet all the challenges of cross-national M&A by: Creating common mission, vision, strategy, and values Developing trust across value boundaries Enabling people with different cultural perspectives to engage in valuable discussions Change-management programs all too often ignore the culture perspectives of the individuals and groups involved--and it's often why organizations fail to realize the benefits that prompted the integration in the first place. Book China s International Investment Strategy

Download or read book China s International Investment Strategy written by Julien Chaisse and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2019-02-07 with total page 576 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since China adopted its 'open door' policy in 1978, which altered its development strategy from self-sufficiency to active participation in the world market, its goal has remained unchanged: to assist the readjustment of China's economy, to coordinate its modernization programs, and to improve its quality of life. With the 1997 launch of the 'Going Global' policy, an outward focus regarding foreign investment was added, to circumvent trade barriers and improve the competitiveness of Chinese firms. In order to accommodate inward and outward investment, China's participation in the international investment regime has underpinned its efforts to join multilateral investment-related legal instruments and conclude international investment agreements. This collection, compiled by award-winning scholar Professor Julien Chaisse, explores the three distinct tracks of China's investment policy and strategy: bilateral agreements including those with the US and the EU; regional agreements including the Free Trade Area of the Asia Pacific; and global initiatives, spear-headed by China's presidency of the G20 and its 'Belt and Road initiative'. The book's overarching topic is whether these three tracks compete with each other, or whether they complement one another - a question of profound importance for the country's political and economic future and world investment governance.
