No es una queja o un regaño, menos un manual sobre la institucionalidad y gobernabilidad de la biodiversidad —aunque se nombra algo sobre esto— más bien, es una invitación a reflexionar sobre el tema y, ojalá, a cambiar de actitud. Aunque no es un libro dirigido solo a los colombianos, sería importante que lo conozcan. La mayoría de los libros sobre ambiente y biodiversidad son escritos desde un enfoque terrestre. Al ser biólogo marino, mi enfoque es diferente: el agua, la cual es transversal en todas sus dimensiones; en Colombia, además, la apreciación de la biodiversidad es muy completa. El país, ubicado en el trópico húmedo,es posiblemente el segundo más biodiverso del mundo —de seguro el de mayor biodiversidad por kilómetro cuadrado— donde se sueña con el desarrollo. ¿Cómo percibimos los colombianos la biodiversidad?
