En la actualidad, los cuidados involucran a todos los sectores de la sociedad que se articulan entre lo político, lo económico, la salud y lo social en los diferentes ciclos de vida del ser humano. ¿Qué sucede si el gasto social de los cuidados es incosteable para el Estado, las empresas y las organizaciones sindicales de trabajadores? ¿Qué sucede si disminuyen o desaparecen los apoyos sociales de los cuidados? Es necesario pues una propuesta de análisis sobre las políticas de igualdad de género y los cuidados como la que aquí se presenta, que se realizan desde las ciencias sociales, con un enfoque pluridisciplinar que incluye la economía, la sociología, la antropología, el derecho o la geografía. El objetivo central es que estos análisis y reflexiones de las políticas públicas en materia de igualdad que se han implementado en los distintos países latinoamericanos puedan contribuir en las políticas públicas en todo el mundo.

It is becoming increasingly clear, however, that these achievements were not equally distributed. In most countries, while some social groups have benefited significantly, the situation of others has stagnated or may even have worsened. If health is a prerequisite to a person functioning as an agent, inequalities in health constitute inequalities in people's capability to function — a denial of equality of opportunity. So why should a concern with health equity be singled out from the pursuit of social justice more generally? Can existing theories of justice provide an adequate account of health equity? And what ethical problems arise in evaluating health inequalities? These are some of the important questions that this book addresses in building an interdisciplinary understanding of health equity. This transformation characterizes «capitalist patriarchy» including «socialism». Its demise is due to the «alchemical» destruction of the world's resources, thought of, theologically legitimized and fetishized as «creation». This violence is not recognized. Elites have, instead, begun with a new «military alchemy», treating the whole Planet as weapon of mass destruction. Hence, the «Planetary Movement for Mother Earth».
