Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The fact that I neglected myself all my life became apparent to me when I met someone who I finally cared about with all my heart. I was not ready to meet her, because I still hadn't found who I truly was. I was lost. I hated my job, my finances, my life, and myself. She, on the other hand, had found herself early in life. She was an outgoing, beautiful, smart, funny, genuinely nice person. I can't fault her for not returning my feelings, because she knew that it would take time for me to get over my past. My past made me sad, and I loved her so much that I shared all that I was with her. Unfortunately, I may have shared too much because I eventually scared her away. I tried to get too close too fast when she wasn't ready. It was my fault. This is my pain that I have to carry around with me. This book is the result of my pain. She inspired me to write like I've never written before. All the feelings that were there for her are in this book. I am so blessed to have met her, because through my pain, I learned, many things. I learned that I could love unconditionally. I loved her so much that I shared all that I was and how I felt at the risk of losing her. I learned to have patience. I learned that time heals all wounds. Most of all, I learned to take care of myself first so I can take care of others later. The only way that I can have someone in my life is if I can confidently say that I am happy with myself and who I am. For this, I thank her from the bottom of my heart. This book is the end of my sorrow. It is my closure. It is the beginning of the rest of my life!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nelson Riverdale, author of Across the Sands of Time, is back with his second book, Poems from a Broken Heart, a true story of his wife, Merlene Ann Martin, and his 30-year marriage to her. Nelson and Merlene knew of each other from Love Gospel Assembly, the Bronx church in NY they attended, but in a congregation of well over 350 people, the two never connected. It wasn't until he unexpectedly saw her at a Christian singles party that their relationship blossomed, and three years later, they were married. In his book, Poems of a Broken Heart, Nelson Riverdale recounts his life with Merlene, her many health issues, and her ultimate passing. In this intimately written story, the author shares his unending love for his wife through the dozens of poems he personally penned. He also opens up about the monstrous grief that brought him into a deep, dark valley of depression, which he called the “death zone.” Poems of a Broken Heart is the extraordinary story of a wonderful marriage that ended suddenly but continues on through the many heartfelt poems written by Nelson Riverdale. ———————— Advance Praise for Poem from a Broken Heart “A journey through grief much like my own when I was hanging from a thread.” —LGA Minister Larry Galloway, widower “Nelson Riverdale’s up-close and deeply personal journey into the depth of grief is a must-read for pastors, medical professionals, educators, life coaches, and those who are grieving. • Pages : 108 pages

Download or read book My Broken Heart Sings written by Gary A. Burlingame and published by A Healthy Life Press. This book was released on 2013-01-21 with total page 108 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Danish philosopher Soren Kierkegaard wrote, "A poet is an unhappy being whose heart is torn by secret sufferings, but whose lips are so strangely formed that when the sighs and the cries escape them, they sound like beautiful music...." Gary A. Burlingame is one such being, with this difference-once unhappy, due to the loss of a son, his broken heart now sings, because he kept walking by faith. His readers are the beneficiaries of the work of the One who binds up the brokenhearted, ..".bestowing on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor" (Isaiah 61:1-3). Gary describes this metamorphosis, "In the days of my youth the songs of my heart were self-focused. My poetry had no clear voice or purpose (outside of wooing my wife). Over time the Lord brought me through some heart-changing experiences. He allowed my heart to break so that He could mold my heart into something new. Out of this regenerated state, my poetry grew-expressing what other people could not express -crying out for them. My prayer is that my poetry would give broken hearts an outlet of release. My Broken Heart Sings is a compilation of poems that speak of pain and joy, love and loss, suffering and new birth." - Dr. David B. Biebel Endorsement: "Gary Burlingame's poetry has been on display in my waiting room for many years. His poems have touched the lives of many patients and their families. His poems stir the emotions while being practical, insightful, spiritual, and deeply truthful. I am glad to have his poetry in book form to refer to my patients and friends for support when they find themselves in pain and fall into deep struggles in their own lives." - Dr. David Trumbore - Director of physical therapy at Delaware Valley Orthopedic Associates, Philadelphia and president of Effective Fitness Solutions, LLC Bensalem, PA

Book Between Sunset and Sunrise There Exists a Broken Heart These Are Its Words

Download or read book Between Sunset and Sunrise There Exists a Broken Heart These Are Its Words written by M. Adonis Layne and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2015-01-16 with total page 169 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book of poems is about heartbreak, the heartbreak of being in love with someone whose love was just out of reach. It made no difference if we were on opposite sides of the earth or sitting across from each other at a candlelit table; her love was always just out of reach. You ask yourself why he would torture himself in such a way. My answer would be, if you knew her like I did, that question would never even enter your mind. Add to the mix that she never knew how much I loved her and there you have a recipe for a poetry book of brokenhearted poems.
