Book Chile m s equitativo

Download or read book Chile m s equitativo written by Claudio Sapelli and published by Ediciones UC. This book was released on 2011 with total page 123 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Chile m s equitativo

Download or read book Chile m s equitativo written by Claudio Sapelli and published by Ediciones UC. This book was released on 2016 with total page 147 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Harald Beyer

Book Adjustment Poverty and Employment in Mexico

Download or read book Adjustment Poverty and Employment in Mexico written by Araceli Damian and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2017-11-01 with total page 183 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This title was first published in 2000: Analyzing the poverty trends in Mexico during the 1980s and early 1990s, this work is concerned with the extent to which changes in the levels of poverty have modified the extent of participation in the labour market. The period covered is 1982 to 1994, when the Mexican economy experienced an economic crisis and the government set in motion the main stabilization policies and structural adjustment reforms. The author challenges the idea that adjustment reforms have had "social costs" in terms of income and formal employment loss. Despite income losses, well-being indicators continued to improve; and employment statistics show that employment grew despite the economic crisis and adjustment. The paradox of household income decline and the increase in income poverty is explained.

Book Handbook of Happiness Research in Latin America

Download or read book Handbook of Happiness Research in Latin America written by Mariano Rojas and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-10-09 with total page 624 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents original happiness research from and about a region that shows unexpectedly high levels of happiness. Even when Latin American countries cannot be classified as high-income countries their population do enjoy, on average, high happiness levels. The book draws attention to some important factors that contribute to the happiness of people, such as: relational values, human relations, solidarity networks, the role of the family, and the availability and gratifying using of leisure time. In a world where happiness is acquiring greater relevance as a final social and personal aim both the academic community and the social-actors and policy-makers community would benefit from Happiness Research in Latin America.

Book Politics In Chile

Download or read book Politics In Chile written by Lois Oppenheim and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2018-05-04 with total page 320 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The third edition of Politics in Chile provides significantly updated coverage of Chilean politics and economic development from the return to civilian rule in 1990 to the 2006 election and early administration of Socialist Michelle Bachelet, Chile's first woman president. Lois Hecht Oppenheim focuses on recent efforts to reconstruct democratic practices and institutions, including resolving such sensitive and lingering issues as human-rights violations under Pinochet and civil-military relations. Chapters on the contemporary politics and economics under the civilian Concertaci governments are largely rewritten for this edition. Rather than focusing on the "search for development", the third edition considers in greater depth the "exceptionalism" of the Chilean economic experiment through successive stages of stability, socialism, and neoliberalism.
