Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hi, my name is Marion Michael Dees, I am sixty-three years old. I have worked construction of one kind or another for most of our life, about forty-five years. Back in November of 2020, I thought a blood clot in my lugs and went into A-Feb, I was in and out of the hospital until August of 2021. When they finally did a procedure to stop my heart from going into A-Feb. During this time, I had a lot of downtimes when I could not work or had to work from home. It was during this time that I started writing this book. Because of my love for South Dakota, I wanted to make my story about that area and its history. Although this is a fictional story with some actual facts, much liberation has been taken however, it is based on actual location and times that refixes the kind of events that could and some that did happen during this period. I hope you enjoy your journey back in time, thank you for reading my book. In 1875 Gold was discovered in French Creek, near what is now known as Custer, SD.. But large amounts of gold were found in the Deadwood and Whitewood creeks the same year. Although the Black Hills and the land around it all belonged to the Sioux Indians and the Lakota tribes. The white man poured into the area staking claims on bits and pieces of land. Most came to the Deadwood Gulch area; this Illegal Settlement was known as Deadwood. The most dangerous settlement in the United States. This story is about a shipment of gold coins lost for many years, and all the people connected to its discovery.
