To understand what that implies, we first have to understand the process of this fundamental transformation and what we can do about it. In Part One of Planetary Transformation, the author, working from the Higher Consciousness of a Spiritual Master and modern-day prophet, outlines the spiritual roots of the physical upheavals that are manifesting on Earth, providing deeper understanding for the true spiritual seeker. In Part Two readers are given practical meditation techniques that will raise their consciousness and help them deal with the coming changes. In the turbulent days to come, people will have a choice: Be one of those who are buffeted by events they do not understand. Book A Transformation Journey to Creative and Alternative Planetary Futures

Download or read book A Transformation Journey to Creative and Alternative Planetary Futures written by Victor V. Motti and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2019-03-21 with total page 128 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents a counter-trend against nationalism, religious extremism, xenophobia, and racism. It advocates an alternative globalization based not on trade, the economy, and politics, but on humanity’s transcendence to a collective consciousness. Inspired by a pantheist worldview, it applies an integral perspective toward strategic foresight and anticipation on the planetary scale. Controversial, disappearing, and emerging binary oppositions are explained within the framework of the mythology of the Lord of Wisdom versus the Ignorant Mind. It shows that our anticipatory planetary era might be characterized by the acknowledgement of our “zero knowledge”, as measured in the ocean of all disciplines; zero carbon for energy; zero war in politics and zero killing in society; zero conscious beings excluded; and zero existence (as we have known it), as humanity merges into some higher and enriched complexity.

Book excerpt: Human health depends on the health of the planet. Earth’s natural systems—the air, the water, the biodiversity, the climate—are our life support systems. Yet climate change, biodiversity loss, scarcity of land and freshwater, pollution and other threats are degrading these systems. The emerging field of planetary health aims to understand how these changes threaten our health and how to protect ourselves and the rest of the biosphere. Planetary Health: Protecting Nature to Protect Ourselves provides a readable introduction to this new paradigm. With an interdisciplinary approach, the book addresses a wide range of health impacts felt in the Anthropocene, including food and nutrition, infectious disease, non-communicable disease, dislocation and conflict, and mental health. It also presents strategies to combat environmental changes and its ill-effects, such as controlling toxic exposures, investing in clean energy, improving urban design, and more. Chapters are authored by widely recognized experts. The result is a comprehensive and optimistic overview of a growing field that is being adopted by researchers and universities around the world. Students of public health will gain a solid grounding in the new challenges their profession must confront, while those in the environmental sciences, agriculture, the design professions, and other fields will become familiar with the human consequences of planetary changes. Understanding how our changing environment affects our health is increasingly critical to a variety of disciplines and professions. Planetary Health is the definitive guide to this vital field.

Book Planetary Improvement

Download or read book Planetary Improvement written by Jesse Goldstein and published by MIT Press. This book was released on 2018-03-16 with total page 233 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An examination of clean technology entrepreneurship finds that “green capitalism” is more capitalist than green. Entrepreneurs and investors in the green economy have encouraged a vision of addressing climate change with new technologies. In Planetary Improvement, Jesse Goldstein examines the cleantech entrepreneurial community in order to understand the limitations of environmental transformation within a capitalist system. Reporting on a series of investment pitches by cleantech entrepreneurs in New York City, Goldstein describes investor-friendly visions of incremental improvements to the industrial status quo that are hardly transformational. He explores a new “green spirit of capitalism,” a discourse of planetary improvement, that aims to “save the planet” by looking for “non-disruptive disruptions,” technologies that deliver “solutions” without changing much of what causes the underlying problems in the first place. Goldstein charts the rise of business environmentalism over the last half of the twentieth century and examines cleantech's unspoken assumptions of continuing cheap and abundant energy. Recounting the sometimes conflicting motivations of cleantech entrepreneurs and investors, he argues that the cleantech innovation ecosystem and its Schumpetarian dynamic of creative destruction are built around attempts to control creativity by demanding that transformational aspirations give way to short-term financial concerns. As a result, capitalist imperatives capture and stifle visions of sociotechnical possibility and transformation. Finally, he calls for a green spirit that goes beyond capitalism, in which sociotechnical experimentation is able to break free from the narrow bonds and relative privilege of cleantech entrepreneurs and the investors that control their fate.

Book Riding the Tide of Change

Download or read book Riding the Tide of Change written by Martin F. Luthke and published by eBookIt.com. This book was released on 2013-02 with total page 105 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Riding the Tide of Change" is a unique book as it covers both, the metaphysical and physical aspects of preparing for the events often referred to as Earth changes. Unlike many of the metaphysically oriented books on Earth changes, "Riding the Tide of Change" avoids grand theories, sensationalism, or far-out speculations. And unlike most of the disaster preparedness and survival books, it explains clearly that hoarding of food and survival gear is a futile endeavor if you neglect the inner work of opening, healing, and releasing. Based on a view of humans as, above all, spiritual beings the author explains clearly and succinctly the metaphysical laws underlying the process of manifestation and healing. He outlines the role we play as co-creators and why the healing of ourselves and the planet are intricately interwoven. Dr. Luthke explains the stages of the transformation process and gives the reader tools to advance the inner work needed in preparation for a New Millennium. For those who wish to take practical steps towards preparing for the Earth changes, the appendix offers a comprehensive list of preparedness items and where to get them. Accessible, yet profound, "Riding the Tide of Change" offers a message of hope and empowerment! Download or read book Subtle Activism written by David Nicol and published by State University of New York Press. This book was released on 2015-08-24 with total page 247 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Can awakened consciousness contribute to social change and, if so, how? David Nicol introduces the concept of "subtle activism" to describe the use of consciousness-based practices like meditation and prayer to support collective transformation, such as global meditation directed toward peaceful resolution of a conflict. Subtle activism represents a bridge between the consciousness movement and the movements for peace, environmental sustainability, and social justice. It is not a substitute for physical action but rather a potentially crucial component of a more integrated approach to social change. Although ancient lore is rife with tales of shamans and adepts intervening on spiritual levels for the benefit of humanity, this book is the first comprehensive treatment of this topic. Nicol grounds his consideration in the available scientific research and in dialogue with a broad range of thinkers in the fields of consciousness studies, transpersonal theory, and New Paradigm thought.

He was perpetually startled by what his eyes were taking in and what his ears were hearing. He often looked like a deer flushed out of hiding. Lorenwile had taken Auragole on several tours of the city since he had arrived. Now Auragole's fascination with the grandeur of the city both delighted Lorenwile and caused him some concern. After all, Mattelmead City could be very seductive. What would Auragole do when the Last Battle came? Would he serve the Creative Gods and tip the scale in their favor, or would he become an ally of the Nethergod and help pull the Deep Earth and all humanity away from its rightful goal? Book Planetary Economics

Download or read book Planetary Economics written by Michael Grubb and published by . This book was released on 2014 with total page 520 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How well do our assumptions about the global challenges of energy, environment and economic development fit the facts? Energy prices have varied hugely between countries and over time, yet the share of national income spent on energy has remained surprisingly constant. The foundational theories of economic growth account for only about half the growth observed in practice. Despite escalating warnings for more than two decades about the planetary risks of rising greenhouse gas emissions, most governments have seemed powerless to change course. Planetary Economics shows the surprising links between these seemingly unconnected facts. It argues that tackling the energy and environmental problems of the 21st Century requires three different domains of decision-making to be recognised and connected. Each domain involves different theoretical foundations, draws on different areas of evidence, and implies different policies. The book shows that the transformation of energy systems involves all three domains - and each is equally important. From them flow three pillars of policy – three quite distinct kinds of actions that need to be taken, which rest on fundamentally different principles. Any pillar on its own will fail. Only by understanding all three, and fitting them together, do we have any hope of changing course. And if we do, the oft-assumed conflict between economy and the environment dissolves – with potential for benefits to both. Planetary Economics charts how.
