Book excerpt: Plan, Live, Reflect - A Daily Planner Filled With More Then Just A Schedule Everybody has their own unique dreams and desires, but taking the first steps toward them is usually more difficult than we think. Use this planner/guided journal to not only organize your schedule, but also your thoughts. As you will see, this planner has no set dates, allowing you to fill in the dates as you desire. You can skip days or weeks, use it at your own pace and remember, it doesn't have to be perfect. If utilizing a planner is new to you, resolutions are not reserved for New Years only, input the dates of your choosing and let the journey begin! Here are a few tips to get you started: * Use the space below the weekly planner to write down your two affirmations for the week. You can use the first one to set the tone for the week to come before it starts and the second as a way to close it and take a minute to reflect on it. Remember, even during the busiest times, it is important to take a minute and remind yourself there is always something to hold on to. This could be your strength, work-ethic, family, consistency or the ability to stay present - think of what matters to YOU! * After each week, take some time to reflect on what has happened. Try to think of small lessons, wins or losses. Then, on the next page you will see prompts that will hopefully spark your creativity and allow you to disengage your thoughts from the events that took place or the physical world and engage fully with yourself and your story. You can always find fifteen minutes and give them to yourself, you deserve it. You may learn something about yourself too! * Don't forget to have fun! Looking for some ideas to create your own affirmations? Here are a few examples of: Word Positive Affirmations: * I am well. * I am strong. * I am important. * I am worthy. * I am loved. Thoughts: * My voice matters. * I believe in my abilities. * My body is strong and healthy. * I speak to myself with kindness. * I love and accept all parts of myself.

The authors believe that informal caregiving by relatives and close friends is an enormous and often invisible resource that deserves close public attention. They identify how families, professionals and communities can respond to challenges of terminal illness such as palliative care, quality of life, financial hardship, grief, and communications with medical personnel. Its holistic approach comes from a perspective of abundance rather than scarcity, and invites readers to reflect on God’s goodness and the resources we have at our disposal, both personally and collectively in our churches. It offers a practical and positive alternative at a time of anxiety about decline. It explores how we recognise and steward gifts in twelve different areas: God • Vision • Relationships • Volunteers • Gifts • Time • Money • Possessions • Generations • Body • Mind • Earth. A range of contributors offers real life examples of the impact of effective and generous stewardship. Reflection and conversation around each theme are facilitated by prompts and discussion starters, making this a practical book for both individual and group engagement.
