Book Loose Leaf for The Physical Universe

Download or read book Loose Leaf for The Physical Universe written by Konrad B Krauskopf and published by McGraw-Hill Education. This book was released on 2019-01-23 with total page 768 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Physical Universe, 17e by Konrad Krauskopf and Arthur Beiser is an outstanding text with a long history. For the 17th edition, real student data points and input, derived from thousands of our LearnSmart and SmartBook users, were used to guide the revision. Heat Maps provided clear visual snapshots of usage of portions of the text and the relative difficulty students experienced in mastering the content. This data was used to direct many of the revisions for this new edition. Of course, many updates have also been made according to changing scientific data, based on current events and so forth. Aimed at presenting the essentials of physics, chemistry, earth science, and astronomy in a clear, easy-to-understand way, The Physical Universe shows students how science works, how scientists approach problems, and why science constantly evolves in its search for understanding.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Nobel-winning physicist argues that fundamental physical laws are found not in the world of atoms, but in the macroscopic world around us In this age of superstring theories and Big Bang cosmology, we're used to thinking of the unknown as impossibly distant from our everyday lives. But in A Different Universe, Nobel Laureate Robert Laughlin argues that the scientific frontier is right under our fingers. Instead of looking for ultimate theories, Laughlin considers the world of emergent properties-meaning the properties, such as the hardness and shape of a crystal, that result from the organization of large numbers of atoms. Laughlin shows us how the most fundamental laws of physics are in fact emergent. A Different Universe is a truly mind-bending book that shows us why everything we think about fundamental physical laws needs to change.

Book Dimensional Properties of Time and Space The Physical Universe

Download or read book Dimensional Properties of Time and Space The Physical Universe written by Ogaeze Francis and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2024-05-23 with total page 18 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Scientific Study from the year 2024 in the subject Physics - General, , course: Physics, language: English, abstract: According to some religions the universe was formed by the voice of God through the Holy Spirit. Christianity says the Holy Spirit hovered around the empty void until God spoke “LET THERE BE LIGHT”. In the ECKANKAR religion the Holy Spirit or the ECK flows from the heart of God (infinity) and sustains all things in the dimensions of space and time. We know a voice is a wave or a disturbance in a system. Using this ideas, this work provides a scientific framework that proves their validity, reexamining concepts we already know as valid while introducing a few. Introducing a whole new way to see and understand the physical universe from the very small to the very large.

Book Physics of the Universe

Download or read book Physics of the Universe written by Mendel Sachs and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2010 with total page 147 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents a new approach to the subject of cosmology. It fully exploits Einstein?s theory of general relativity. It is found that the most general formal expression of the theory replaces the (10-component) tensor formalism with a (16-component) quaternion formalism. This leads to a unified field theory, where one field incorporates gravitation and electromagnetism. The theory predicts an oscillating universe cosmology with a spiral configuration. Dark matter is explained in terms of a sea of particle?antiparticle pairs, each in a particular (derived) ground state. This leads to an explanation for the separation between matter and antimatter in the universe. There is a brief discussion of black holes and pulsars. The final chapter delves into philosophical considerations such as the different types of ?truth?, positivism versus realism and a discussion of the role of the Mach principle in physics and cosmology.

Book Cracking the Code of Our Physical Universe

Download or read book Cracking the Code of Our Physical Universe written by Matthew M. Radmanesh and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2006-05-30 with total page 420 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What sets this book apart is the fact that it is not just another science book describing scientific facts and phenomena! It would surely be redundant since that task has been done many times over with much more elegant prose and brighter narrators. In this book, for the first time we have undertaken the task of breaking the code of any piece of matter or natural phenomena; whether it is an atom, a quantum occurance, a planet, a galaxy, or any other perceivable thing. It covers any natural phenomena ever discovered or one that will be unravelled by the future pioneers in their respective fields. This book provides the trail map of any and all things that man has discovered and shows how their codes were cracked. The list of discoveries is endless but prominent amongst them are the discovery of fire, elecricity, magnetism, laws of motion, the solar system and planets, so on and so forth. This book goes beyond just pure science since it fuses philosophy with science. It actually makes science a subset of philosophy, or more precisely, applied philosophy. Just like the light phenomenon, which was made to be a subset of the field of electricity by James Clerk Maxwell, revolutionizing our technical world, so does this book by bringing a new era of incredible developments for mankind!

Book Fine Tuning in the Physical Universe

Download or read book Fine Tuning in the Physical Universe written by David Sloan and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2020-10-29 with total page 571 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Is the universe fine-tuned for complexity, life, or something else? This comprehensive overview of fine-tuning arguments in physics, with contributions from leading researchers in their fields, sheds light on this often used but seldom understood topic. Each chapter reviews a specific subject in modern physics, such as dark energy, inflation, or solar system formation, and discusses whether any parameters in our current theories appear to be fine-tuned and, if so, to what degree. Connections and differences between these fine-tuning arguments are made clear, and detailed mathematical derivations of various fine-tuned parameters are given. This accessible yet precise introduction to fine-tuning in physics will aid students and researchers across astrophysics, atomic and particle physics and cosmology, as well as all those working at the intersections of physics and philosophy.

Book The Physical World

    Book Details:
  • Author : Nicholas Manton
  • Publisher : Oxford University Press
  • Release : 2017
  • ISBN : 0198795939
  • Pages : 573 pages

Download or read book The Physical World written by Nicholas Manton and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2017 with total page 573 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Physical World offers a grand vision of the essential unity of physics that will enable the reader to see the world through the eyes of a physicist and understand their thinking. The text follows Einstein's dictum that 'explanations should be made as simple as possible, but no simpler', to give an honest account of how modern physicists understand their subject, including the shortcomings of current theory. The result is an up-to-date and engaging portrait of physics that contains concise derivations of the important results in a style where every step in a derivation is clearly explained, so that anyone with the appropriate mathematical skills will find the text easy to digest. It is over half a century since The Feynman Lectures in Physics were published. A new authoritative account of fundamental physics covering all branches of the subject is now well overdue. The Physical World has been written to satisfy this need. The book concentrates on the conceptual principles of each branch of physics and shows how they fit together to form a coherent whole. Emphasis is placed on the use of variational principles in physics, and in particular the principle of least action, an approach that lies at the heart of modern theoretical physics, but has been neglected in most introductory accounts of the subject.
