As soon as Jitka and her fiancé buy a house, it’s time for Jitka to fulfil her long-time dream: to have a faithful, cute, furry friend, capable of true, unconditional love. The new addition to their family is strong-willed, with a clear focus on his own wants. He displays daily his obvious love of all the things the world so generously provides for him, especially if it tastes good, or at least is not completely inedible. Not aware yet that a dramatic turn of events is just around the corner, Jitka and her fiancé are enjoying life with the many surprising and frequently comical situations that Pepi drags them into. As life, so often unpredictable, can change laughter into tears, joy into fear and vice-versa, Jitka’s secure world is turned upside down and she is hurtling down the roller coaster with Pepi by her side. Will they make it? These are life lessons – powerful, maybe, but always entertaining.

Book Memoirs of an Agent for Change in International Development

Download or read book Memoirs of an Agent for Change in International Development written by Ludwig Rudel and published by Ludwig Rudel. This book was released on 2014 with total page 364 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: THE ASSOCIATION FOR DIPLOMATIC STUDIES AND TRAINING (see ADST.org) has selected this memoir for inclusion in its "Memoirs and Occasional Papers" series. Lu Rudel describes his unique experiences with US foreign economic aid programs during some of the most dramatic international events since World War II. These include Iran after the fall of Mosaddegh (1956-1960); Turkey after the military coup of 1960 to the start of the Cuba Missile crisis; India after the death of Nehru (1965-1970); and Pakistan following the Soviet withdrawal from Afghanistan in 1988. Rudel's firsthand observations on Iran differ markedly from the description of events commonly espoused by some historians and journalists. He also provides a firsthand account of the political metamorphosis over the past half-century of the "Group of 77" nations as they attempted to employ the UN's economic development agencies to press for a "New International Economic Order." These experiences lead him to draw important lessons about the conduct and effectiveness of foreign aid. After retirement in 1980 he launched a second career, applying lessons learned from his work in international development to creation of a thousand-acre land development and resort in rural Appalachia. His experiences over the following thirty years as an entrepreneur track the relentless growth of government regulations and the disappearance of community support institutions such as local banks, now being replaced by mega-banks. Finally, he examines global trends of the past eighty years in four critical areas of change affecting our lives-population growth, science and technology, economic systems, and political structures-to draw some surprising conclusions and projections. Book The Revival of Atumism The Ancient Egyptian Religion Part 1

Download or read book The Revival of Atumism The Ancient Egyptian Religion Part 1 written by Mostafa Elshamy and published by Mostafa Elshamy. This book was released on 2021-09-19 with total page 238 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The word Atumism derives from ‘Atum,’ the manifestation of the All-Lord in creating the sphere of earth and the creature Adam. The words ‘Atumian’ and ‘Atumianity,’ addressed here by the meaning of ‘Human’ and ‘Humanity,’ are derived from ‘Atum’ who is ‘Adam.’ In the Egyptian literature, there is a thin line that differentiates ‘Atum’ and ‘Atum.’ Why denominate the Egyptian Religion by the term “Atumism”? The answer is found in multitude of diverse notions embedded in the Egyptian speech and makes the term in its profoundness the most right for a religion that has been of divine revelation millennia ahead of A. D. This book is a fusion of the earlier research titled “Ancient Egypt: The Primal Age of Divine Revelation, Volume I and II.

Book The Ancient Egyptian Pyramid Texts

Download or read book The Ancient Egyptian Pyramid Texts written by James P. Allen and published by Society of Biblical Lit. This book was released on 2005 with total page 484 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Pyramid Texts are the oldest body of extant literature from ancient Egypt. First carved on the walls of the burial chambers in the pyramids of kings and queens of the Old Kingdom, they provide the earliest comprehensive view of the way in which the ancient Egyptians understood the structure of the universe, the role of the gods, and the fate of human beings after death. Their importance lies in their antiquity and in their endurance throughout the entire intellectual history of ancient Egypt. This volume contains the complete translation of the Pyramid Texts, including new texts recently discovered and published. It incorporates full restorations and readings indicated by post-Old Kingdom copies of the texts and is the first translation that presents the texts in the order in which they were meant to be read in each of the original sources.

Book Memoirs of Stephan Geese

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There is an adage celebrated in many patriotic songs that defines the homeland the place where you were born, which always will have a special place in your heart and that you will revere as long as you live. No matter what circumstances separated you from your birthplace, whether because your homeland was lost to the victor of a war, forcing natives to flee and live as tolerated refugees in exile or you left it voluntarily, in search of a better life. Finding a substitute that can fully replace the lost homeland is not easy, it is very often impossible. This book recounts the turbulent and dramatic life of the author in search of a new homeland. It ended in Miami, where an officer of the US Immigration and Naturalization Services greeted him with a warm “Welcome to America” and he felt, he finally arrived home, where he belonged, in the land of the free, the land that he learned to love, and his new homeland. Sometimes he is visiting his native homeland using Google Earth, to find it foreign, strange, and very distant in his memory.
