Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Pearls of Wisdom The book Pearls of Wisdom came about because of the dream I had of starting a Bible Study in the little country church my husband Dennis and I pastor in Nebraska, Indiana. Each week I would come up with the pearl and ask the Holy Spirit what He wanted me to tell the people. I wanted something that they could reflect on for the entire week. My sole intention was to keep them uplifted and edified. I wanted to gently guide and direct them the way they should go. The book is to be a practical application to lifes battles and challenges. It was to encourage them and make them understand they were not alone but God was there all the way with them. And though they may have fallen into sin and temptation, if they repented then His love was unconditional. I wanted them to know they were not the only ones going through the challenges life brought about, but how they handled those difficulties made the world of difference. The book is a collection of what I shared with our Bible Study. Now instead of just sharing with a handful of people, I desire to touch the lives of all those who will receive them. Read and reread them and let them make a world of difference in your life. Open your spirit up to what the Holy Spirit has to say to you. God Bless You, Vera

Download or read book Fulbright Labyrinths written by Virginia Hall-Milhouse and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2011-11-28 with total page 379 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this provocative work, Virginia Milhouse demonstrates how autoethnography combines creative and analytical practices to help bring to consciousness some complex social and political agendas hidden in narratorial writings. It demonstrates how an arts-based qualitative research method (narrative inquiry) can be fused with a scientific-based quantitative method (DMIS-IDI) and compliment, support and or correct each other. It also demonstrates how "writing as a method of inquiry" can be a viable way for researchers to learn about themselves and their research, as well as features standards for evaluating creatively and analytically constructed text. Further, the author's examination of the aesthetics of "inner-readiness" and "in-betweeness" will be very helpful to people doing this kind of self-reflexive fieldwork. The reader will also appreciate this author's recognition of the importance of combining qualitative and quantitative methodologies--something not many writers can do with great success. Also, this book will be a real contribution to sojourners and others traveling or living abroad. The work is very smart; and, is, beautifully and clearly written. The 'labyrinth' quote at the beginning of her work is very fitting and certainly promises to illustrate those words.

Book I Wish I Could Tell You

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: About the Book I Wish I Could Tell You: Pearls of Wisdom from Grannie was written for the author’s granddaughter Avery, who is now seven years old. Its intent is to share lessons learned from Marcia’s journey through life's ups and downs as she tried to understand herself, others, people’s behaviors, and the circumstances she encountered. As she encountered rejection, prejudice, and various circumstances, it was important for her to seek God's purpose for her, regardless of what life presented. Growing up during the struggles of the Civil Rights Movement, she had to learn on her own who she was and who she was not. Marcia shares the pearls of wisdom she learned along the way with the hope that it will help her granddaughter and others use her advice and not be taken off their divine course in life. About the Book Marcia grew up on the Southside of Chicago in a housing project called Ida B. Wells. She married and had two children. After her subsequent divorce, she and her two children moved to California. Before retiring, Marcia was a soft skills, diversity, and management facilitator, as well as a Human Resources professional. She currently resides in Santa Clara, California.
