Book Pathways to Joy in Marriage

Download or read book Pathways to Joy in Marriage written by Paul W. Syltie and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2012-06-05 with total page 127 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We live in an age of broken marriages, broken homes, and broken lives, brought on by an adversary whose wavelength permeates this society and teaches us that a person is free to do whatever he wishes. Do what feels good, and fear not the consequences! My wife and I have proven that a married couple and their children do not need to follow this course. In fact, it is much, much easier not to, because the fruits are infinitely better if you do not ... and we all like good fruit! God ordained it that way, because He invented marriage and family. For 45 years my wife and I have witnessed the fruits of striving after God's perfect plan for married couples as outlined in His word. True, Sandy and I were brought up as hard-working farm kids totally dedicate to each other — that helped to get a good start — but in today's world, as in any age, the pulls of the flesh and of this fallen age can easily derail a family if they take their eyes off the goal. That goal is to love God, and to love your neighbor as yourself ... starting within your own home! We have proven that in spite of society and families disintegrating all around us, you can have a wonderfully fulfilling marriage, and as a major part of that rear a loving and joyous family. Look through the pages of the photo albums especially, and see snatches of the good times we had — and still do have — while growing up together. (Parents grow up too, and their kids teach them a lot!) Do not follow the road most traveled. Read this book, live God's way, and be amazed that happiness will indeed pursue you!

Book Marital Happiness Is a Choice

Download or read book Marital Happiness Is a Choice written by J.A. Alexandre and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2017-09-07 with total page 280 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I urge everyone who wants to understand just how wonderful marriage can be to read and reread this book. But I also urge psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, pastors, missionaries, and lay counselors to study it as well. I urge them because it not only covers a host of important aspects of marriage and includes practical tips but it also has deep spiritual and emotional concepts and even unconscious personality dynamics and how we all, to one extent or another, deceive ourselves in many ways that are detrimental to our marriages (Paul Meier, MD, founder of the national chain of Meier Clinics). Youll never be happy in your marriage if you dont deal with issues head on, such as communication, conflict resolution, and intimacy. J. A. Alexandre, a pastor and relationship expert, helps you build and maintain a loving relationship with your spouse in this guidebook to marital bliss. Youll learn how to rekindle the flame of love that brought you together, avoid choices and situations that could endanger your marriage, get the maximum amount of enjoyment in being with your partner, and recognize the needs that arent being met (including your own). By revealing results from surveys hes conducted during marital retreats, the author shares specific behaviors that can cause trouble in a marriage. More importantly, he provides ideas and guidance on how to overcome problems. Regardless if you are contemplating marriage, already married, or seeking to help couples, youll understand that marital happiness is a choice by seeking to understand the Word of God while confronting the challenges of everyday life.

Book Pathway to Intimacy

Download or read book Pathway to Intimacy written by Carol Welch and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2008-02 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Does your marriage need a tune-up? Are the pressures of life pulling you apart? Have you gotten so busy with your lives that you have forgotten about your dreams? What you need is a little bit of faith and a great big change of perspective. What you need is a fresh word from God. Most of you believe Psalms 119:105, "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path." But all too often, the reality is that we don't really understand God's will, and we don't know his plan for our marriage. If I have hit the nail on the head take courage, take hope, and take this book home with you. In it you will discover the pathway of God's Living Word. Pathway to Intimacy will teach you how to seek God's will for your marriage, how to find answers in God's Word, how to empower your relationship with renewed love, and how to intertwine God in your marriage. My God can change your perspective and empower you to change your circumstances. My God has a word for your marriage, and once you hear that word, you will never be the same again.

Book Pathways to Possibility

Download or read book Pathways to Possibility written by Rosamund Stone Zander and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2016-06-21 with total page 274 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Rosamund Zander is a miracle. Her generous voice will resonate with you, change you and help you create work that matters." —Seth Godin, author of The Icarus Deception The bestselling author of The Art of Possibility returns with a new vision for achieving true human fulfillment that's sure to appeal to fans of Brene Brown's Daring Greatly and Elizabeth Gilbert's Big Magic As children, we develop stories about how the world works, most of which get improved upon and amended over time. But some do not, even as we mature in other ways. Opinionated, self-centered and fear-driven, these “child stories” are the source of the behavioral and emotional patterns that hold us back. When we learn to identify and rewrite these stories, limitless growth becomes possible. In her groundbreaking and inspiring new book, Rosamund Stone Zander shows us that life is a story we tell ourselves, and that we have the power to change that story. She illuminates how breaking old patterns and telling a new story can transform not just our own lives, but also our relationships with others—whether in a marriage, a classroom, or a business. Finally, she demonstrates how, with this new understanding of ourselves and our place within an interconnected world, we can take powerful action in the collective interest, and gain a sense of deep connection to the universe. Pathways to Possibility expands our notions of how much we can grow and change, whether we can affect others or the world at large, and how much freedom and joy we can experience. Stimulating and profound, it is the perfect companion to her beloved first book, The Art of Possibility.

Book excerpt: Sacred Pathways reveals nine distinct spiritual temperaments--and their strengths, weaknesses, and tendencies--to help you improve your spiritual life and deepen your personal walk with God. It's time to strip away the frustration of a one-size-fits-all spirituality and discover a path of worship that frees you to be you. Experienced spiritual directors, pastors, and church leaders recognize that all of us engage with God differently, and it's about time we do too. In this updated and expanded edition of Sacred Pathways, Gary Thomas details nine spiritual temperaments and--like the Enneagram and other tools do with personality--encourages you to investigate the ways you most naturally express yourself in your relationship with God. He encourages you to dig into the traits, strengths, and pitfalls in your devotional approach so you can eliminate the barriers that keep you locked into rigid methods of worship and praise. Plus, as you begin to identify and understand your own temperament, you'll soon learn about the temperaments that aren't necessarily "you" but that may help you understand the spiritual tendencies of friends, family, and others around you. Whatever temperament or blend of temperaments best describes you, rest assured it's not by accident. It's by the design of a Creator who knew what he was doing when he made you according to his own unique intentions. If your spiritual walk is not what you'd like it to be, you can change that, starting here. Sacred Pathways will show you the route you were made to travel, marked by growth and filled with the riches of a close walk with God. A Sacred Pathways video Bible study is also available for group or individual use, sold separately.

Book The Pursuit of Marriage Oneness The Key to Marital Success

Download or read book The Pursuit of Marriage Oneness The Key to Marital Success written by H. Irving Wilson and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2022-05-10 with total page 232 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In recent decades, the application of biblical principles that generate marital joy and happiness has diminished. Younger generations at large have aligned their marriages more with the precepts of the world than of Christ, leaving couples unfulfilled and unhappy. Steadily, the holistic nature of the art of married love has been lost as to being the fabric of Christian marriages. In The Pursuit of Marriage Oneness: the Key to Marital Success, Dr. Wilson unveils the key to marriage fulfillment: understanding and walking in marital Oneness. Organized into three parts, he first examines the field of knowledge on Oneness in marriage from a unique, faith-based perspective. Second, The Pursuit of Marriage Oneness offers an in-depth discourse on the synergy of the three facets of marital love from the Song of Songs, making practical applications from Scripture, clinical experience, and empirical research. And third, it discusses organizational and interactional aspects of covenant marriage with coherent and functional pathways to marital joy, happiness, and enduring success. As a Pastoral Counselor and Marriage and Family Life Coach, Dr. Wilson spent years compiling summary records that consistently showcased the needs of his clients and the successful interventions in their marriages. He felt the need to be a part of a movement for marital reformation by introducing an ancient yet fresh and exciting Christian perspective to marriage satisfaction: Oneness, the essential meaning of marriage. This book invites couples on a journey with a clear and refreshing pathway in pursuing marital joy and happiness as One.
