Book Information Rights and Obligations

Download or read book Information Rights and Obligations written by André Janssen and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2017-03-02 with total page 235 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Information requirements have become a key element of consumer policy at the European level and are also gaining increasing importance in all other areas of private law. The law stipulates that information provided should not be misleading and also involves requirements regarding the fairness and objectivity of what has been provided. In addition to controlling the veracity of what is voluntarily offered by traders, the law increasingly requires disclosure of certain information. This volume focuses especially on the question of how these information requirements influence the party autonomy. International contributors explore in various contexts whether the legislative policy regarding the information requirements and their relationship to party autonomy has been properly thought through.

Book A Handbook of Derivatives for Mass Spectrometry

Download or read book A Handbook of Derivatives for Mass Spectrometry written by Vladimir Zaikin and published by IM Publications. This book was released on 2009 with total page 545 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Chemical derivatisation of functional groups has proved popular since the beginning of organic mass spectrometry as a means to enhance the stability and volatility of the analytes as well as facilitating structure elucidation. This book provides comprehensive information on the wide range of derivatisation methods. Each chapter looks at a particular area of derivatisation and includes extensive references to the literature for further research where necessary. There are nearly 1800 references, which, as well as full bibliographic information, include chapter/paper titles where appropriate and Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) to allow easy retrieval of the online version of the referenced publication. The emergence of atmospheric pressure ionisation and other soft ionisation techniques has not diminished the interest in such chemical techniques, as witnessed by the many chemical tags used in quantitative proteomics (Chapter 9). The last two chapters, a substantial part of the book, deal with derivatisation for use with soft ionisation of both small and large molecules. Chapters Silylation Acylation Alkylation (Arylation) Cyclic derivatives Monofunctional compounds Polyfunctional compounds On-line derivatisation/degradation Soft ionisation—small molecules Soft ionisation—large molecules

Book The Changing Face of Afro Caribbean Cultural Identity

Download or read book The Changing Face of Afro Caribbean Cultural Identity written by Mamadou Badiane and published by Lexington Books. This book was released on 2009-12-30 with total page 199 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Changing Face of Afro-Caribbean Cultural Identity: Negrismo and Négritude looks primarily at Negrismo and Négritude, two literary movements that appeared in the Francophone and Hispanic Caribbean as well as in Africa at the beginning of the twentieth century. It draws on speeches and manifestos, and use cultural studies to contextualize ideas. It poses the bases of both movements in the Caribbean and in Africa, and lays out the literary antecedents that influenced or shaped both movements. This book examines the search for cultural identity through the poetry of Nicolas Guillén, Manuel del Cabral, and Palés Matos. This search is extended to the Négritude movement through the poems of Léopold Senghor, Léon-Gontran Damas, and Aimé Césaire. Mamadou Badiane further discusses the under-represented Négritude women writers who were silenced by their male counterparts during the first half of the twentieth century. Ultimately, this is a book on Caribbean cultural identity that shows it in a slippery and fluctuating zone. By demonstrating that while the founders of the Négritude movement both identified themselves as descendants of Africans and were proud to proclaim their African heritage, the members of the Antillanité and Créolité movements see themselves as a product of miscegenation between different cultures.
