To answer this demand, the education system must put revolutionary innovation on its agenda. Scholars, researchers, and practitioners are invited to share ideas, research results, and best practices about education, science, and technology now and in the future at an international conference held by Universitas Negeri Manado as part of the Indonesian National Education Convention (KONASPI). As part of KONASPI X activities, Universitas Negeri Manado is holding the 2022 International Conference on Education, Social Science, and Humanities (ICESSHum). The topics in this international conference are Education, Law, Politics and Social Sciences, Economics, Public Administration, and Humanities. Through these themes, it is expected to involve many professionals who have indirect roles in related fields. To enrich this event, the committee invites all national and international participants (including academics, researchers, professionals, and other relevant stakeholders) to send research papers or review papers to be presented at the conference.

Book Proceeding of the 3rd International Conference on Social Knowledge Sciences and Education ICSKSE 2023 Change and Continuity in Southeast Asia

Download or read book Proceeding of the 3rd International Conference on Social Knowledge Sciences and Education ICSKSE 2023 Change and Continuity in Southeast Asia written by Aditya Nugroho Widiadi and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2024-01-27 with total page 408 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is an open access book. Socio-culturally, people in the Southeast Asian region have a heterogeneous composition. This diversity can be seen from the large number of ethnic compositions that inhabit the region. For example, in Indonesia, there are already various ethnic groups, not yet to mention in other regions such as Malaysia, Philippine, and others. The diversity of these ethnic groups is directly proportional to the variety of languages that exist in Southeast Asia. Similarly with the languages, the culture in these ethnic groups is definitely diverse. Interestingly, this diversity is constantly changing, keeping up with the global changes. These changes are important to study, in order to get an overview of the socio-cultural changes and continuity that currently exist in the Southeast Asian region. The various changes and continuity that occur historically, geographically, and socio-culturally mentioned above, will also have various impacts on the educational aspect. Therefore, it is also pivotal to examine the various change and continuity that occur in the field of education of Southeast Asia. This is because the field of education will determine where Southeast Asia will be taken in the future.

Book Economic Uncertainty in the Post Pandemic Era

Download or read book Economic Uncertainty in the Post Pandemic Era written by Shilpa Deo and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2024-12-05 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The global economy has experienced many challenges in recent times, particularly in the shadow of the COVID-19 pandemic, such as dwindling demand, supply chain disruptions, declining growth rates, further pandemic waves, and increasing poverty and inequality to name but a few. Four years after the pandemic, economies are still struggling to achieve sustainable economic growth and development. While much has been written about the impact of COVID-19 on various sectors and economies, this is the first book to underscore the post-COVID global uncertainties that are still occurring on the world stage and further, to present the recent challenges such as geo-political tensions, war, economic disturbances, climate change, the energy crisis in Europe, recession in developed economies and its effect on developing and least developed economies. The book starts by setting the grounds for further discussion of the present challenges as well as future implications. In addition to examining the immediate issues which occurred with the onset of the pandemic, it explores these from the perspective of developed, developing, and least developed countries. The wide-ranging topics covered by the book include the ongoing Russia-Ukraine War, China’s increasing economic dominance in neighbouring countries, the economic collapse of Sri Lanka and Pakistan, the factors that led to the technology layoffs and the future of global employees and economies. The book goes beyond looking at sector-specific factors and broadly outlines country-specific instabilities, policy choices and the way forward. The book will be of interest to students of macroeconomics, development and international economics, and international relations as well as researchers and policymakers.

Book Corporate Social Responsibility and Development in Pakistan

Download or read book Corporate Social Responsibility and Development in Pakistan written by Nadeem Malik and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2014-08-13 with total page 179 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has not only become an important concept for corporate organizations but also civil society, community, state and the multilateral and bilateral development agencies. It has acquired great significance in the aftermath of the global financial crisis of 2008, not only in the advanced economies, but also in emerging and developing countries. In contemporary Pakistan problems of poverty, unemployment, illiteracy, and human rights violations are frequent. These problems cannot be dealt with by the state and civil society alone and call for corporate involvement. Backed by rich empirical data, based on extensive fieldwork and complemented with the official data sources, this book offers a detailed analysis of the socially responsible corporate policies and practices of companies operating in the emerging economy of Pakistan. Employing qualitative and quantitative research methods, it examines the sensitivity of companies in Pakistan to CSR measured in terms of their policies and perceptions about CRS, their CSR development activities, perceptions about development Non-Governmental Organisations, and channels and forms of support for development projects(both monetary and non-monetary). Filling a significant gap in our understanding of an important part of contemporary Pakistan’s development and the outlook of companies towards CSR, the book will be of interest to policymakers and scholars working in the fields of Development Studies, Business Studies and Asian Studies.
