Book excerpt: It's true; I've had 4 babies naturally without pain and not one tear-four pregnancies without morning sickness and complications. I've had four wonderful postpartum experiences. The great news is that this same experience is available to every woman through Jesus. Before I became pregnant with my first, I had a preconceived notion that labor pretty much sucks. The world says it's going to be awful and extremely painful. Writhing in pain and begging for drugs is what friends, family, movies, and social media tell us. I heard it all and believed that was the way it's supposed to be.This book's purpose is to take you through my journey of breaking free from the world system of what birthing looks like and exchange it for the Kingdom, His righteousness, and what God intended for all women to experience. This book has scriptures that will open your eyes to blessings you may have never realized are yours to receive. Many people have said to me that I'm either lying or have a special superhuman gift. The truth is, I do have a special superhuman gift, and His name is Jesus! If you have Jesus, I am no different than you. We have the same supernatural abilities and anointing, for we have the same anointed one in us. If you do not know Jesus yet, I pray that my testimony will open your heart to seek Him and find the truth.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Is natural painless childbirth a myth or reality? The intent of the book is neither to give universal guidelines nor to compete with the work and methods of Midwives, doulas or other related professions. You won't even find recommendations concerning diet or physical exercise here. Those are pieces of information that you can read in books written by many outstanding authors. The purpose of the book is to pass on personal experience, to show a slightly different point of view and to introduce pregnancy and birth as the woman's work on her own personal development. We are all holding the birth pain as well as the whole experience of birth in our own hands. Based on personal experience and story. "The book should be welcomed as a golden opportunity to reinforce the power modern physiology has to challenge thousands of years of cultural conditioning. It can help us to be aware of a sudden paradigm shift regarding our understanding of the birth process and particularly our interpretation of labour pain." From the foreword by Michel Odent, M.D. (author of 13 books including Birth Reborn, Chidbirth and the Future of Homo Sapiens)

Download or read book Deliver Me from Pain written by Jacqueline H. Wolf and published by JHU Press. This book was released on 2009-03-16 with total page 293 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Despite today's historically low maternal and infant mortality rates in the United States, labor continues to evoke fear among American women. Rather than embrace the natural childbirth methods promoted in the 1970s, most women welcome epidural anesthesia and even Cesarean deliveries. In Deliver Me from Pain, Jacqueline H. Wolf asks how a treatment such as obstetric anesthesia, even when it historically posed serious risk to mothers and newborns, paradoxically came to assuage women's anxiety about birth. Each chapter begins with the story of a birth, dramatically illustrating the unique practices of the era being examined. Deliver Me from Pain covers the development and use of anesthesia from ether and chloroform in the mid-nineteenth century; to amnesiacs, barbiturates, narcotics, opioids, tranquilizers, saddle blocks, spinals, and gas during the mid-twentieth century; to epidural anesthesia today. Labor pain is not merely a physiological response, but a phenomenon that mothers and physicians perceive through a historical, social, and cultural lens. Wolf examines these influences and argues that medical and lay views of labor pain and the concomitant acceptance of obstetric anesthesia have had a ripple effect, creating the conditions for acceptance of other, often unnecessary, and sometimes risky obstetric treatments: forceps, the chemical induction and augmentation of labor, episiotomy, electronic fetal monitoring, and Cesarean section. As American women make decisions about anesthesia today, Deliver Me from Pain offers them insight into how women made this choice in the past and why each generation of mothers has made dramatically different decisions.
