She takes the reader through story after story of what happens when we learn to ask the right question and climb down off the self imposed pedestal of savior and into the dirt path of being a true ally. It is her journey as the company founder that created this painfully honest collection of essays. She describes the tenderness with which the ones she "helps" have helped her, many times over. Hers is a journey of learning respect, and discarding pity. She writes about a new and important way of seeing that dismantles our image as saviors into a robust authentic posture as simply fellow humans.
