Book excerpt: It brings these question: How will these global population and economic change impact the HR management practices of global organizations in overseas market development? How to maintain resources in various increase competitive advantage against global competitors, when the organization needs to develop overseas market?I shall indicate case , such as how Japan firms can implement human resource strategy to manage their foreign employees when their organizations hope to enter overseas market? The typically Japanese ways in which Japanese companies have long arranged their human resource stragegies are certainly changing. However, Japan's organizational culture is different to overseas countries, e.g. US, UK etc. western countries' organizational cultures. Hence the Japan company needs to change it's culture to attempt to adapt western countries' staffs cultures, when it plans to set up office(s) in any western (countries). Because it needs to employ western staffs who owned the country's sales experiences to assist its Japanese salepsople to cooperate to sell its poducts to any western country (countries)' market more easily in possible. Alos, it means the Japan firm HR manafers or any department managers need to change whose management attitude to adapt the western countries staffs working culture to cooperate to work in order to achieve to raise performance or improve productive efficiencies.Hence, the Japan firm's Japanese human resource manager needs to concern how to particular qualify management system to adapt western working culture, consensus decision-making, building foreign employee loyalty to its overseas branch images and avoiding a look of gender equality in the workplace. Japan forms like to train employees, making them to own with a range of skills and abilities that they can contribute to the company throughout their career. Lifetime employment also leads to a decreased turnover rate for company. However, this kind of continue training method, it is not absolute to be adapted to some western countries because some western countries' staffs who do not accept their employers force them often need continue training courses to improve or raise their skills aim. They only like to spend time to attend one time training course finishing or sometime attend in house training courses in their companies. They feel that company is wasting their working time to learn non-essential or unuseful knowledge or skill. So, when a Japan firm needs overseas western staffs need to often be trained, it will bring the western staffs choose to leave its company earlier. So, Japan firm needs to concern continue lifetime training method whether it is suitable to any western countries' staffs to be accepted to spend working time to learn extra new skills or knowledge. For this working suitation example, if one western employee feels busy that he/she needs to finish whose current tasks today immediately, but the company will need he/she attends the training course to learn immediately. Then, it will bring he/she feels worry anout whether he/she can finish his/her tasks today to avoid whose superviser feels angry. Hence, how to arrangement suitable training time , that is imporant factor to influence the western staffs to feel whether the Japan employer really considerate their work need. Hence, Japan human resource management needs to concern how the immediate short -term training course impact will bring western countries employees' complaints and dissatisfaction. Consequently, it is important to influence western employees' performance to be poor of the Japan firm skill needs some countries' western employees often need to attend training courses to learn something immediately.

Book How Facility Management Influences Employee Behavior

Download or read book How Facility Management Influences Employee Behavior written by Johnny Ch Lok and published by Facility Management. This book was released on 2019-04-03 with total page 80 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Instead of the not enough space moving and excessive staffs number factor, it will bring another question: Can enough information systems equipment cause a more efficient and improved performance to the organization staffs in the workplace? I assume that the office has 100 employees and it has only ten copying machines. So it means that ten employees use one copying machine. Hence, it brings this question: Is it enough to provide only ten copying machines to average ten employees to use? It depends on other factors, e.g. whether any one of these 100 employees needs to print how many documents per day, whether the five copying machines' locations are far away to separate different locations or they are stored in one printing room in the office, whether the day has how many staffs are absent, whether the day has how many printing machine(s) is/ are broken to need to be repaired. Hence, these unpredictable external environment factors will influence whether the five copying machines number is enough to let these 100 employees to use in the office every day. Hence, facility manager ought need to spend to observe average their copying behaviors every day in order to make data record. Many employees need to use copy machines to print documents, average how many document's page number, they need to print, how much average time spending to print their documents, average how many staff absent number on the day. Even, if the all five copying machines are stored in the printing room, calculating the staffs number whether how many staffs need more than five minutes to walk to the printing room to print their documents many staffs need to spend five minute to walk to the printing room, and they have other urgent tasks to wait to finish. It is possible to influence their efficiency, due to they often need to spend more than five minutes to walk to the printing room to print documents. If there are many staffs need to often to print documents, but their printing task will have many time, e.g. 20 separate printing tasks. Then, they need to spend at least ( 20x5 ) 100 minutes to spend time to walk to the printing room to print their documents. It must influence that they should not finish the other urgent tasks on the day. If there are many staffs to spend much time to walk to the printing room in the least 20 separate printing time or more on that day. All the facility manager needs to evaluate whether all the five copy machines are stored in the printing room whether it is the best location decision or they ought need be separated to put on different office locations in their workplaces, even he/she ought need to evaluate whether it is enough copying machines number, when the office has only 5 copying machines. He/she ought need to buy more copying machines number to satisfy any one of these 100 employee individual copyiing task need.In conclusion, effective office or factory or warehouse space moving facility management will be one part task of (FM) function. If the office or factory or warehouse can have accurate equipment, machine, furniture number to avoid excessive or shortage number problem to cause employees often feel moving difficult problem in their workplace when they need to move to another location to work in office or warehouse or factory as well as whether the staff needs often spend time to wait the another employee to use the copying machine to print whose document or fax machine to deliver whose document. Then, it is not that fax or printing machines number is not enough to provide the employees to use in the office or warehouse or factory workplace.

Book Variability in Human Performance

Download or read book Variability in Human Performance written by Thomas J. Smith and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2014-08-26 with total page 398 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Understanding the conditions under which variability in performance may arise, and the processes related to its emergence, gives us insight into the development of techniques for improving the quality of performance. Variability in Human Performance details the scientific and the practical implications of human performance variability by providing a broad perspective on how and why such variability occurs across a number of disciplinary domains. The text takes an approach that rests upon the idea of context, or design, specificity in performance, namely that variability in performance is closely referenced to design factors in the environment in which performance is occurring. An exploration of the link between variability and related processes, the book introduces a comprehensive framework for understanding human performance variability, presented in terms of how human control of behavior is closely tied to design factors in the performance environment. The authors introduce empirical evidence, as well as practical examples and application areas, in support of this framework. The book begins with coverage of neurobiological and biomechanical basis of movement variability, then examines rich and extensive empirical evidence available for context specificity in cognitive performance and learning, as a basis for cognitive performance variability. The book then reviews the evidence for context specificity in: Student learning Displaced feedback conditions Human error behavior Affective performance Social and team performance The authors also explore work performance as influenced by complex sociotechnical systems and as a basis for performance variability, applying control systems concepts to an interpretation of the nature and basis of performance variability in all of these domains. They conclude by taking an evolutionary perspective on the origins and behavioral significance of human performance variability. The book then provides strategies on how individuals, groups, and organizations can significantly reduce variability in human performance that often leads to systems failures.
