The paper investigates the moderating effect of Organizational Commitment on EVLN Model: Exit, voice, Loyalty and Neglect as a response to job dissatisfaction leading to OCB. The research pertaining to life insurance is scant. Further, previous studies have not examined whether or not dissatisfied non sales employees of life insurance industry would display OCB. The present study is an attempt to understand the same. If the organization identifies the dissatisfied employees and addresses their grievances then those employees responding to "Voice" and "Loyalty" option of EVLN Model would not only be retained with the organization but also are likely to display OCB. This book was released on 2003 with total page 168 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This research investigated the relationship between organizational citizenship behaviors, emotional intelligence, and job satisfaction. The purpose of the study was to gain a greater understanding of the antecedents of organizational citizenship behavior. Subjects were 71 employees of three golf and country clubs located in the southeastern part of the United States. The participants were given five surveys to complete. Correlation analyses and a multiple regression analysis were conducted on the data. The results indicated that cognitive job satisfaction was significantly correlated with organizational citizenship behaviors and that emotional intelligence was significantly correlated with the altruism dimension of organizational citizenship behaviors. The results also showed that emotional intelligence did not moderate the relationship between job satisfaction and organizational citizenship behavior. Exploratory analyses revealed that emotional intelligence did add unique variance to organizational citizenship behaviors above and beyond personality traits. Implications of the findings and future research are discussed.

Download or read book Health Justice in India written by Edward Premdas Pinto and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-10-13 with total page 295 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents important fields of research in public healthcare in India from an interdisciplinary and health systems perspectives. Discussing how the exchange of power between the health justice triad, viz., the State (judiciary as the arm of the State), legal and medical professions, and civil society, cumulatively shapes the outcomes of health justice for citizens, it provides insights into India’s juridico-legal processes and of seeking justice in healthcare. It critically assesses civil society’s counter-hegemonic role in bolstering justice in health care and examines the potential of transforming health care jurisprudence into health justice. Repositioning the social right to healthcare as integral to social citizenship and social justice, and opening avenues for inter-professional and interdisciplinary power discourse in public health policy research, the book is of interest to academics, practitioners, students, researchers, and the wide academic community working in public health care issues broadly.

Book Historical Dictionary of the Tamils

Download or read book Historical Dictionary of the Tamils written by Vijaya Ramaswamy and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2017-08-25 with total page 519 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Tamils have an unbroken history of more than two thousand years. Tamil, the language they speak, is one of the oldest living languages in the world. The only people comparable to the Tamils in terms of their hoary past and vibrant present would be the Jews with one marked difference. The Tamils have always had their homeland 'Tamilaham' (alternately pronounced and spelt 'Tamizhaham') known today as Tamil Nadu which to them represents their mother and is revered by them as 'Tamizh Tai' literally ‘Tamil Mother’. This is in striking contrast to the Jews who have been through a long and arduous struggle to gain their homeland, a deeply contested site to this day with Hebrewisation of Israel being a key marker of Jewish identity in the region. Tamils, by contrast have a clear numerical majority in the region that now comprises Tamil Nadu and the language unites rather than divides adherents of different faiths. The second edition of Historical Dictionary of the Tamils contains a chronology, an introduction, and an extensive bibliography. The dictionary section has over 600 cross-referenced entries on important personalities, politics, economy, foreign relations, religion, and culture. This book is an excellent resource for students, researchers, and anyone wanting to know more about the Tamils.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This title defines what is required to achieve a culture of effective data management offering advice on the skills required, legal and contractual obligations, strategies and management plans and the data management infrastructure of specialists and services. Data management has become an essential requirement for information professionals over the last decade, particularly for those supporting the higher education research community, as more and more digital information is created and stored. As budgets shrink and funders of research demand evidence of value for money and demonstrable benefits for society, there is increasing pressure to provide plans for the sustainable management of data. This edited collection, bringing together leading figures in the field from the UK and around the world, provides an introduction to all the key data issues facing the HE and information management communities. Each chapter covers a critical element of data management: • Why manage research data? • The lifecycle of data management • Research data policies: principles, requirements and trends • Sustainable research data • Data management plans and planning • Roles and responsibilities – libraries, librarians and data • Research data management: opportunities and challenges for HEIs • The national data centres • Contrasting national research data strategies: Australia and the USA • Emerging infrastructure and services for research data management and curation in the UK and Europe Readership: This is essential reading for librarians and information professionals working in the higher education sector, the research community, policy makers and university managers.
