Book One Orange for Infinite Roses

Download or read book One Orange for Infinite Roses written by Eneya Jenkins and published by Fulton Books, Inc.. This book was released on 2022-08-08 with total page 171 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: War is an unforgiving thing. It destroys cities, families; it destroys love. In 1992, in former Yugoslavia, the country of Bosnia and Herzegovina faced war. No more high school sweethearts, no more worrying about what you'll wear on your first date, nothing. In the city of Sarajevo lived Elena--the girl who always kept to herself and stayed on her own path, that is, until she started high school. Somehow always thinking she knew what she wanted her life to be like, but never calming the ocean of her thoughts to come up with one answer. Isaac, on the other hand, was the boy who lived through chaos effortlessly. The boy who found peace in the chaos, who made life look effortless with his good looks, swaying charm, and perfect grades. Everything was as easy as breathing for him, until it wasn't. From the seed of a high school romance grows something much bigger as Isaac and Elena learn to battle their new realities. Will they come out unharmed? Or will the war take its toll on souls far too young to experience such a thing?

Book Orange Roses

Download or read book Orange Roses written by Lucy Ives and published by . This book was released on 2013 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Poetry. Essays. ORANGE ROSES, written over a 10-year timeframe, enacts a poet's development: the process of her discovering what a poem might be. In this work, there is hardly a difference between dream and reality the line between that which exists and that which is merely a construction of perspective is blurred in any attempt to portray a given experience. Ives questions not only what we can get away with, in attempting to add to or alter whatever "poetry" or "literature" might officially be but, too, what will we be able to take away? Writing is less about choosing between worlds, she suggests in this exploratory book, than it is about existing in one where life and our perceptions thereof are complementary."

Book Modern Painters Vol 1 5

Download or read book Modern Painters Vol 1 5 written by John Ruskin and published by e-artnow. This book was released on 2021-04-06 with total page 1262 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Modern Painters is a five-volume work by the eminent Victorian art critic, John Ruskin. The work placed emphasis on symbolism in art, expressed through nature and it was influential on the early development of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. Ruskin wrote Modern Paintings for 17 years updating it and adding later volumes in subsequent years. The book was primarily written as a defense of the later work of J. M. W. Turner. Ruskin argues that recent painters emerging from the tradition of the picturesque are superior in the art of landscape to the old masters. He used the book to argue that art should devote itself to the accurate documentation of nature. In Ruskin's view, Turner had developed from early detailed documentation of nature to a later more profound insight into natural forces and atmospheric effects.
