These entwine themselves around and encompass the bladder; and when the meat and the drink have arrived at these parts in a mixed state, the excrement becomes more solid, and passes through, but all the moisture is strained through those tender parts, (11) and the bladder, the membrane of which is equally fine and delicate, absorbs and collects it, so as to send it forth where nature has opened an outlet

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Lucius Caecilius Firmianus Lactantius was an early Christian author (c. 250 - c. 325) who became an advisor to the first Christian Roman emperor, Constantine I, guiding his religious policy as it developed, and tutor to his son. In The Divine Institutes, Lactantius expected an earthly reign of the resurrected saints with Jesus after His second advent for the thousand years before the universal judgment. He presented, in sharp chronological summary, the premillennial advent, the two resurrections, the millennial period, and the reign of the saints with Christ, with surprising astuteness, reflecting the unsettled doctrine of the time. With the conversion of Constantine, the Christians were no longer persecuted, their adversaries were destroyed, and tranquility reigned. The world's favor, rather than its hatred, became the church's peril. Multitudes flocked into the church because it was now fashionable and the church, long comfortable to persecution and expected martyrdom, became worldly. New errors commingled with older ones, and with truth. In the outline of Bible history, Lactantius dealt with the plan of salvation, the origin of sin, creation, probation in Eden, the fall, and the incarnation of Christ. He said that "as the end of this world approaches, the condition of human affairs must undergo a change, and through the prevalence of wickedness become worse."

Book Mankind God s Most Awesome Creation

Download or read book Mankind God s Most Awesome Creation written by Lindsey K. Ham Sr. and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2019-02-13 with total page 108 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I was born with a curious mind ... .l am a thinker. I question everything physical and spiritual except for the undeniable existence of God. There is only One Truth and His Name is Jesus Christ in the flesh, The Holy Spirit in your mind representing right, and God, The Almighty, Creator, Father, Who is everywhere at the same time. I have an unquenchable desire to know the deepest Truth about all things spiritual as well as physical. Why am I here? Why are we here? Where are we? What does my existence mean? What are the many reasons for so many different variables in this physical realm and how do they all work together, because it's very obvious that they do. I want you to think critically about what you read. God is indeed real, and He created this universe and everything in it, including all life. Most modern scientists reject the FACT that The Almighty God created this universe, and they are being used by Satan (our sworn spiritual enemy who has already been sentenced by God Almighty to eternal damnation) to confuse physical truths which clearly can ONLY be attributed to God The Creator. The Truth doesn't change just because someone doesn't believe it, so don't be one of the fooled ones. There was no spontaneous big bang, and life does NOT exist by some theoretical, spontaneous, evolutionary, purposeless process. Don't believe the lies; spontaneity cannot have purpose. Mr. Lindsey K. Ham Sr.

Download or read book The Creation of Man written by Dr. Gilbert H. Edwards and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2010-06-16 with total page 118 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I have focused on the idea of man in creation and have tried to clarify it. Perhaps there is as much confusion and uncertainty here as anywhere today, even in Christian ranks. There is confusion and uncertainty of the beginning of man, was he created as man as of today or did he evolve from an ape? Also, there are other things that confuse and seem uncertain to man that I tried to point out in this study. The idea of God is being attacked in many ways and in many quarters. But there seems to be, also, a growing recognition of man's need of God. Man within himself is helpless in the midst of hostile forces on every hand. God is man's only refuge and help in time of need. I feel that man should know about his total self, and relationship with God. I will try to point out and focus on studies of man before the world was created, the three-folds of man's nature and functional parts, his fall and punishment, and also his renewal stages and his final destiny.

From a wide variety of sciences, including astronomy, biology, chemistry, physics, and geology, Morris presents clear evidence that the Bible gives us an astonishingly accurate record of the past, present, and future.

Book Schleiermacher on Christian Consciousness of God s Work in History

Download or read book Schleiermacher on Christian Consciousness of God s Work in History written by Abraham Varghese Kunnuthara and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2008-01-01 with total page 203 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This work is a fresh, unusually lucid approach to Christian theology and interfaith dialogue fromÊIndia.ÊIts basic aim is to examine the Christian consciousness of God's work in history--redemption history within the entire Êhistory of the world.ÊIt uses Christian Faith by Friedrich Schleiermacher (1768-1834) as its main text, so as to view this theme in a reversed order from the way it is presented there. This approach, which centers on God's new creation in Christ, leads to an incisive understanding of Christianity's relation to other modes of faith.ÊThroughout, Dr. Kunnuthara compares the thought of another Indian Christian leader steeped in Hindu thought, Pandippedi Chenchiah (1886-1959), to enable renewed interfaith dialogue across a wide spectrum.

Book Genesis The Reality of God s Creation

Download or read book Genesis The Reality of God s Creation written by Fernanda Silva and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2021-10-19 with total page 49 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: First, God believed, and then he called what he had inside his heart to existence. In the book, The Reality of God’s Creation, we can understand that the reality our eyes see day by day is not nearly what the Father wished for us, and through Jesus Christ, we have access to this reality lost by sin. God’s Word is the most potent encyclopedia in life. However, it would be a mysterious unknown if there were not God’s great will through the anointing of the Spirit, both to write it and to interpret it. From this formula, the result comes—revelation. In possession of it, what remains is to live enjoying a life carefully planned by our God and Father. Moreover, nothing is better than knowing how everything was planned. Just know the manual of life—the Word of God—consulting how everything was planned in the beginning. (Pastor Atlas Freire) Purpose and destiny! To discover the purpose of human existence is undoubtedly one of the most-thought-out questions of our time. We live in an age when our society is hungry for a purpose, for a mission, for a real sense. Who is a human being? What is your place within the planet and society? When God created man, he had a goal; nothing was done by chance, and everything is wholly connected according to his magnificence. You have a purpose and a destiny, and until you find out which one, you will never be complete and successful in your life. Once you know your purpose, God will show your destiny.

The first commentary series to do so, SGBC offers a clear and compelling exposition of biblical texts, guiding everyday readers in how to creatively and faithfully live out the Bible in their own contexts. Its story-centric approach is ideal for pastors, students, Sunday school teachers, and laypeople alike. Each volume employs three main, easy-to-use sections designed to help readers live out God's story: LISTEN to the Story: Includes complete NIV text with references to other texts at work in each passage, encouraging the reader to hear it within the Bible's grand story. EXPLAIN the Story: Explores and illuminates each text as embedded in its canonical and historical setting. LIVE the Story: Reflects on how each text can be lived today and includes contemporary stories and illustrations to aid preachers, teachers, and students. —Ephesians— Like all of Paul's letters, Ephesians is centered in the gospel and its implications. It tells the story of what God has done in Christ and spells out the ethical implications of this story. But the letter to the Ephesians is unique among Paul's letters in many ways, including in how it tells of the story of God, beginning "before the creation of the world" and ending in eternity. Edited by Scot McKnight and Tremper Longman III, and written by a number of top-notch theologians, The Story of God Bible Commentary series will bring relevant, balanced, and clear-minded theological insight to any biblical education or ministry.

Book Man the Image of God

    Book Details:
  • Author : Cardinal Christoph Sch?nborn
  • Publisher : Ignatius Press
  • Release : 2011-01-01
  • ISBN : 1586174207
  • Pages : 120 pages

Download or read book Man the Image of God written by Cardinal Christoph Sch?nborn and published by Ignatius Press. This book was released on 2011-01-01 with total page 120 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: God created man in his own image, and the profound implications of this assertion are the subject of this book. Drawing on philosophy, theology, science, Scripture and art, Cardinal Schnborn reflects on man as the greatest of Gods creatures and on the Christian understanding of his incomparable dignity that flows from this truth. According to the Christian faith, all the works of God converge toward man, and find their goal in him. The world was made for man, and man was made for God. This anthropocentrism resounds like good news at a time when many find it hard to believe in Gods special and personal providence for man. It is good news, indeed, that man has worth and his life has meaning because God bears an infinite love for him a love which is the very origin of creation and is the reason for the work of redemption. Among the topics Cardinal Schonborn addresses are: Christ-the Loveliest of Men, The Exaltation of Man, The Basis of Mans Dignity, Faith in Art, God with a Human Face.

Book Why God Created Man

    Book Details:
  • Author : James Fish
  • Publisher : Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.
  • Release : 2016-06-08
  • ISBN : 1681974010
  • Pages : 76 pages

Download or read book Why God Created Man written by James Fish and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2016-06-08 with total page 76 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Why God Created Mankind" was inspired by the author's studying and understanding of the Bible. This leads to learning that "God is too loving to be unkind." One scripture states, "Broad is the way that leads to destruction and many there will be that. Go in there at, and narrow is the way that leads to life eternal and there will be few that find it. " The author felt if God knows all things, why would he create mankind, knowing the majority would be lost? He personally believes that it was unkind, unless he had a superior plan for man. With a lifetime of gathering information of God's love and kindness for redemption, he has concluded that this book is a reflection of God's plan for mankind. When you read this book, it is so important to grasp the depth of it. You need to reach down in your spirit and soul to understand that your spirit will live on forever. Reach deeper than just the surface. All of my scripture references are taken from the King James Version of the Bible.
