Are you visiting Korea for a short time and want a Korean phrase book to help you communicate? If so, this Korean phrasebook for you. It's tiny 0.4 x 4.1 x 5.9 inches size makes it incredibly convenient to travel with but without losing the most essential content for communication. This new, expanded edition contains 15% more content, fun manga-style illustrations, and additional information on which destinations, personalities and trends are hot in Korea right now! The idea of Instant Korean is simple--learn 100 words and phrases and say 1,000 things. The trick is knowing which 100 words to learn, but the author Boye Demente has solved the problem, choosing only those words you'll hear again and again. Even with a Korean language vocabulary this small, you'll be surprised how quickly you can learn Korean and how fluently you too can communicate in Korean. An English-Korean dictionary makes looking up words and phrases simple and quick. Here's a sample of what you'll be able to do with this Korean phrasebook: Meet people. Go shopping. Ask directions. Ride the subway. Order food and drinks. And much more. About the new edition: This revised edition has manga illustrations to give visual cues for language use in context, and useful cultural notes on what's proper in Korea--how to address someone based on the hierarchy in societal structure (age, gender and how well acquainted with the other party), how to get the attention of a wait staff in a restaurant, etc.

Book Liminality in Tourism

Download or read book Liminality in Tourism written by Robert S. Bristow and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2021-09-05 with total page 255 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Liminality is not typically associated with tourism, even though it can be viewed as an intrinsic element of the social/cultural experiences of tourism. Liminality in Tourism: Spatial and Temporal Considerations aims to build upon the tradition of liminality as expounded in social and anthropological disciplines, elaborating on the theoretical principles and concepts found within certain aspects of the tourist journey and tourist product. The emergence of post-modern society has impelled a change in the tourist gaze towards a more experiential and adventuresome globalised experience. An important aspect of the tourist phenomenon of liminality is where a transformative experience is triggered by entering a liminoid tourist space, leaving the tourist permanently psychologically transformed, before returning to normalised society. The narrative provides a new perspective on the tourist experience with a provocative examination into the multidimensional aspects of tourism, by exploring tourism within the spatial and temporal aspects of liminal landscapes. Covid-19 has further changed the rubric of tourism. Until the current pandemic, tourism has basically been a fun experience. In a post pandemic world, however, the tourist is now facing an unknown future which will almost certainly affect tourism liminality. This book presents the reader with a wealth of examples and case studies closely illustrating the association between tourism and liminal experiences. The geographical perspectives explore the more subconscious outcomes of destination and tourist product consumption. The book should be a useful reader to tourism geography where the theory of liminality can be synthesized into tourist experiences. The chapters in this book were originally published as a special issue of the journal Tourism Geographies.

As he grew up, Robbie seemed able to read the thoughts of the denizens he encountered in the beautiful forests of Sussex County. Tutored by his mother, Robbie loved all life in his natural environment. Then, to help a runaway boy and a beleaguered woman, he traveled east to more populous areas of the state and, after further adventures there, was taken to New York City and Wall Street. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Specialist Periodical Reports provide systematic and detailed review coverage of progress in the major areas of chemical research. Written by experts in their specialist fields the series creates a unique service for the active research chemist, supplying regular critical in-depth accounts of progress in particular areas of chemistry. For over 80 years the Royal Society of Chemistry and its predecessor, the Chemical Society, have been publishing reports charting developments in chemistry, which originally took the form of Annual Reports. However, by 1967 the whole spectrum of chemistry could no longer be contained within one volume and the series Specialist Periodical Reports was born. The Annual Reports themselves still existed but were divided into two, and subsequently three, volumes covering Inorganic, Organic and Physical Chemistry. For more general coverage of the highlights in chemistry they remain a 'must'. Since that time the SPR series has altered according to the fluctuating degree of activity in various fields of chemistry. Some titles have remained unchanged, while others have altered their emphasis along with their titles; some have been combined under a new name whereas others have had to be discontinued.

From cosmic dust in destiny’s womb. Does it always come from above? The love that makes our lives worthwhile, even if now and then it changes its style. It is the only thing worth living for, even if, in some lives it comes only once and no more. (From Is love something? Poem) During his lifetime, Rod Berg Schonenberg was a devoted high school teacher who documented his life experiences and penned hundreds of poems in five languages. In a volume of poems shared posthumously by his daughter, Mr. Schonenberg reflects on old and new loves and all the complications and joys that accompany relationships as two souls intertwine and attempt to find a way to move forward in life together. Throughout his presentation, Mr. Schonenberg reminds us of the true beauty that lies within the heart and the hope that can be found even during the most challenging of times.
