Book History and Genealogy of the Eastman Family of America Classic Reprint

Download or read book History and Genealogy of the Eastman Family of America Classic Reprint written by Guy Scoby Rix and published by . This book was released on 2015-07-09 with total page 534 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from History and Genealogy of the Eastman Family of America The method of this work is that which is recommended by the New England Historic Genealogical Society, in an important sense the foster-mother of almost every New England genealogy. The author is under obligations to all who have furnished records, who are many, but he feels under especial obligations to Mr. Sumner Kimball, of Lovell, Me.; Mr. Enos Eastman, of Plymouth, Wis.; Miss Mildred Eastman, of Kearsarge, N.H.; and to Mr. George P. Eastman, of Milbury, Mass., who turned over to him all the old records gathered by his grandfather, Rev. Lucius Eastman, who spent years on the work, and who published a pamphlet of about ten pages of the first four generations of the family. The abbreviations used in this work are but few and will be readily understood. The marginal numbers indicate that a further record is given, which will be found further along in the book. It is the earnest hope of the author that the result of his labors may impart to others the same gratification it has afforded him in its preparation, and he will be pleased to receive any additional material, which will be carefully preserved and deposited with the New Hampshire Historical Society, at Concord, N.H., where future genealogists of the family can obtain it, should it be thought advisable years hence to publish another edition. Du Bois described as the "Second Battle of Lexington." Join author Peter Brackney and delve into this century-old story of murder and mayhem.
