Download or read book O novo jeito de vender mais e melhor written by Fred Rocha and published by Editora Gente. This book was released on 2022-05-10 with total page 188 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: O VENDEDOR BEM-SUCEDIDO É AQUELE QUE DESENVOLVE A ARTE DE VENDER ALÉM DO PRODUTO OU SERVIÇO: ELE VENDE PROPÓSITO!

Book 1808 The Flight of the Emperor

Download or read book 1808 The Flight of the Emperor written by Laurentino Gomes and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2013-08-29 with total page 305 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In a time of terror for Europe’s monarchs—imprisoned, exiled, executed—Napoleon’s army marched toward Lisbon. Cornered, Prince Regent João had to make the most fraught decision of his life. Protected by the British Navy, he fled to Brazil with his entire family, including his deranged mother, most of the nobility, and the entire state apparatus. Until then, no European monarch had ever set foot in the Americas. Thousands made the voyage, but it was no luxury cruise. It took two months in cramped, decrepit ships. Lice infested some of the vessels, and noble women had to shave their hair and grease their bald heads with antiseptic sulfur. Vermin infested the food, and bacteria contaminated the drinking water. Sickness ran rampant. After landing in Brazil, Prince João liberated the colony from a trade monopoly with Portugal. As explorers mapped the burgeoning nation’s distant regions, the prince authorized the construction of roads, the founding of schools, and the creation of factories, raising Brazil to kingdom status in 1815. Meanwhile, Portugal was suffering the effects of abandonment, war, and famine. Never had the country lost so many people in so little time. Finally, after Napoleon’s fall and over a decade of misery, the Portuguese demanded the return of their king. João sailed back in tears in 1821, and the last chapter of colonial Brazil drew to a close, setting the stage for the strong, independent nation that we know today, changing the New World forever.

Book SEJA DESTEMIDO SUPERE SEUS MEDOS E ANSIEDADES E VIVA O MELHOR DA VIDA

Download or read book SEJA DESTEMIDO SUPERE SEUS MEDOS E ANSIEDADES E VIVA O MELHOR DA VIDA written by Waldenir José das Chagas de Oliveira and published by Waldenir José das Chagas de Oliveira. This book was released on 2023-04-12 with total page 119 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Counsel for Christian Workers" is a heart-warming call for Christians to take their main duty seriously - that is the call to enlarge God's Kingdom on earth, and to do this with energy, enthusiasm, earnestness, zeal, and knowledge. As with other books by Charles Haddon Spurgeon, the Prince of Preachers, this one is not for the faint-hearted, but for those who are devoted totally to their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To those who are saying something like "How I would like to be one of these!", Spurgeon replies with a clear "Well, you don't need a large congregation, because there is a pulpit in every street in London." But Spurgeon's starting point is his readers' own salvation. He quotes, "Knowing the terrors of the Lord we persuade men", then adding "what loss would it be to you, if you did lose all the world, and gained your soul?" and then "it is the best and most convenient that each householder should sweep before his own door". This book has been originally published in 1896. This edition has been edited for modern readers, typeset for eBook readers, and proofread. About the author: Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834-1892) was born in Kelvedon, Essex, England. He converted to Christianity in 1850 at a small Methodist chapel, and shortly after that he began his own ministry of preaching and teaching, and preached more than 500 sermons by the age of 20. During his ministry, he preached to more than 10 million people, wrote tens of books, and published his sermons in over 25,000 copies on a weekly basis. Charles Spurgeon suffered from poor health and he died on January 31, 1892, and was buried in London.

Book Ideas to Postpone the End of the World

Download or read book Ideas to Postpone the End of the World written by Ailton Krenak and published by House of Anansi. This book was released on 2020-10-06 with total page 88 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Ailton Krenak’s ideas inspire, washing over you with every truth-telling sentence. Read this book.” — Tanya Talaga, bestselling author of Seven Fallen Feathers Indigenous peoples have faced the end of the world before. Now, humankind is on a collective march towards the abyss. Global pandemics, extreme weather, and massive wildfires define this era many now call the Anthropocene. From Brazil comes Ailton Krenak, renowned Indigenous activist and leader, who demonstrates that our current environmental crisis is rooted in society’s flawed concept of “humanity” — that human beings are superior to other forms of nature and are justified in exploiting it as we please. To stop environmental disaster, Krenak argues that we must reject the homogenizing effect of this perspective and embrace a new form of “dreaming” that allows us to regain our place within nature. In Ideas to Postpone the End of the World, he shows us the way.

Book excerpt: A bestselling literary sensation in Brazil, a powerful debut short-story collection about favela life in Rio de Janeiro In The Sun on My Head, Geovani Martins recounts the experiences of boys growing up in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro in the early years of the twenty-first century. Drawing on his childhood and adolescence, Martins uses the rhythms and slang of his neighborhood dialect to capture the texture of life in the slums, where every day is shadowed by a ubiquitous drug culture, the constant threat of the police, and the confines of poverty, violence, and racial oppression. And yet these are also stories of friendship, romance, and momentary relief, as in “Rolézim,” where a group of teenagers head to the beach. Other stories, all uncompromising in their realism and yet diverse in narrative form, explore the changes that occur when militarized police occupy the favelas in the lead-up to the World Cup, the cycles of violence in the narcotics trade, and the feelings of invisibility that define the realities of so many in Rio’s underclass. The Sun on My Head is a work of great talent and sensitivity, a daring evocation of life in the favelas by a rising star rooted in the community he portrays.
