Book More Than Two

Download or read book More Than Two written by Franklin Veaux and published by . This book was released on 2014 with total page 480 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "From Ancient Greece through the many dynasties of China to current practices of non-monogamy, people have openly engaged in multiple intimate relationships. Not until the late 20th century, however, was a word coined that encapsulated the practice, as well as its philosophies, edicts and ethics: polyamory (poly = many + amore = love). For Franklin Veaux, who has been polyamorous for his entire adult life, the emerging framework and subsequent vocabulary for his lifestyle was a light in the dark. Candidly sharing his experiences and thoughts online catapulted his website morethantwo.com, among the first dedicated to the poly lifestyle, to one of the top-ranking on the subject. In recent years, as more people have discovered polyamory as a legitimate and desirable option for how they conduct their relationships, Franklin and one of his partners, Eve Rickert, saw that there was a growing need for a comprehensive guide to the lifestyle. More Than Two is that guide. This wide-ranging resource explores the often-complex world of living polyamorously: the nuances (no, this isn't swinging), the relationship options (do you suit a V, an N, an open network?), the myths (don't count on wild orgies and endless sex but don't rule them out either!) and the expectations (communication, transparency and trust are paramount). More Than Two is entirely without judgment and peppered with a good dose of humor. In it the authors share not only their hard-won philosophies about polyamory, but also their hurts and embarrassments. Living poly is not always an easy road, and they hope that by reading this book, you'll avoid some of the mistakes they've made along the way. Challenging the notion of what society considers a healthy and successful relationship, they offer up personal stories from their own lives as well as of those in the wider poly world, emphasizing that this lifestyle choice isn't for the noncommittal. Polyamory is all about the relationships and the individuals participating. Charting a Relationship Bill of Rights, the authors underscore the importance of engaging in ethical polyamory and guide readers through the thorny issues of jealousy and insecurity with the aim of encouraging readers to work consistently and conscientiously on both their relationships and themselves. And no, they're not trying to convert you: they know that polyamory isn't for everyone. Veaux and Rickert simply provide those who might be embarking on this lifestyle or those who have always known they are poly with a set of tools and many questions to help them make informed decisions and set them on a path to enjoying multiple happy, strong, enriching relationships."--Amazon.com.

Book How to Turn Your Woman Into a Raving Nymphomaniac

Download or read book How to Turn Your Woman Into a Raving Nymphomaniac written by Mike Riley and published by . This book was released on 2014-02 with total page 66 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Women are complicated. They really, truly are. Ask any guy, he will tell you. However, us men can influence women. We can turn them into great lovers. We can turn them into nymphomaniacs! This book shows you how. Part of the reason women are complicated is they are ruled by their hormones at least half of the hours of their lives. These hormones influence their behavior so strongly that at times men would swear they act like at least two different girls in one body. By using the techniques in this book, you, Dear Reader, will be able change their hormone cascade to make them a caring mother and wife at one time and then a raging sex goddess at another. Guys rule! With this book in your back pocket, your life will be perfect! And your girl will be smiling every hour of every day. Sorry to tell you this, guy, but women need sex far more than men do. It is like a big secret. If men knew how easy it was to turn women into mindless sex machines, women would be at the mercy of any man they met. That is the last thing they want. Girls want to be in the drivers seat. They want men to love them when they want to be loved, not the other way around! Buy this book right now, men. Time is a wasting. There are so many women in the world who are dying to meet you. Dying to meet a man in the know. Dying to meet a man who can make them happy, if only for a few hours, a couple of days or for a life time of devotion. The choice is yours. You lucky man, you!

Download or read book Moved by Love written by Mary D. Sheriff and published by University of Chicago Press. This book was released on 2008-10-30 with total page 318 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In eighteenth-century France, the ability to lose oneself in a character or scene marked both great artists and ideal spectators. Yet it was thought this same passionate enthusiasm, if taken to unreasonable extremes, could also lead to sexual deviance, mental illness—even death. Women and artists were seen as especially susceptible to these negative consequences of creative enthusiasm, and women artists, doubly so. Mary D. Sheriff uses these very different visions of enthusiasm to explore the complex interrelationships among creativity, sexuality, the body and the mind in eighteenth-century France. Drawing on evidence from the visual arts, literature, philosophy, and medicine, she portrays the deviance ascribed to both inspired men and women. But while various mythologies worked to normalize deviance in male artists, women had no justification for their deviance. For instance, the mythical sculptor Pygmalion was cured of an abnormal love for his statue through the making of art. He became a model for creative artists, living happily with his statue come to life. No happy endings, though, were imagined for such inspired women writers as Sappho and Heloise, who burned with erotomania their art could not quench. Even so, Sheriff demonstrates, the perceived connections among sexuality, creativity, and disease also opened artistic opportunities for creative women took full advantage of them. Brilliantly reassessing the links between sexuality and creativity, artistic genius and madness, passion and reason, Moved by Love will profoundly reshape our view of eighteenth- century French culture.

Book The Nympho and Other Maniacs

Download or read book The Nympho and Other Maniacs written by Irving Wallace and published by Crossroad Press. This book was released on 2019-04-28 with total page 489 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this exciting and provocative book, Irving Wallace, one of America's most famous novelists, turns to nonfiction to tell the candid stories of more than thirty women of the last two centuries who defied the social standards of their times—sexually, politically, intellectually—rebelling against conventional behavior or ideas to go their own ways. These ladies, by intention or unwittingly, gave succeeding generations of women new freedoms—freedoms the very mention of which scandalized their contemporaries but which led, ultimately, to today's Women's Liberation Movement. With a gift of narrative rare in nonfiction, Irving Wallace describes the lives of Ninon de Lencios, who founded a School of Lovemaking in France; of Emma Hamilton, who became pregnant by England's greatest naval hero without her husband's noticing it; of Napoleon's sister, Pauline Bonaparte, whose intense sexual activity was the despair of her gynecologist; of Napoleon's mistress, Maria Walewska, who was asked to sacrifice her virtue to the Emperor to save Poland from his wrath... Perhaps nobody has ever done such justice to Lord Byron's reckless females—among them, the sensuous Teresa Guiccioli, who left her titled husband for Byron, the unhappy Caroline Lamb, who pursued Byron with such passion as to nearly drive him and her husband mad, and the unfortunate Claire Clairmont who gave Byron both a daughter and a hellish time. Certainly no one has ever written so entertainingly about such extraordinary tales as Victoria Woodhull, who ran for president of the United States in 1872 on a platform advocating free love, short skirts, vegetarianism, birth control, and world government (she also made a fortune as the first lady stockbroker, with the backing of her good friend Commodore Vanderbilt), or Lady Jane Eleenborough, who enjoyed thirty-six renowned lovers (three of them kings) and four husbands (the last an Arab sheik). The Nympho and Other Maniacs is a magnificent tour de force, a book that goes far beyond the amusing and incredible adventures of the uninhibited ladies themselves to make some wise and unexpected points about life, love, marriage, and women.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "... the papers in Deviant Bodies reveal an ongoing Western preoccupation with the sources of identity and human character." -- Times Literary Supplement "Highly recommended for cultural studies... " -- The Reader's Review "It would be useful for upper-level undergraduate and graduate courses in the sociology of the body, the history and sociology of science and medicine, and women's studies courses, particularly those exploring the feminist critiques of science and medicine." -- Contemporary Sociology "... a powerful deconstruction of the scientific gaze in configuring bodily deviance as a means of legitimating the social order within multiple historical and social contexts.... the many excellent selections will make for compelling reading for students of medical anthropology and the history of science." American Anthropologist Deviant Bodies reveals that the "normal," "healthy" body is a fiction of science. Modern life sciences, medicine, and the popular perceptions they create have not merely observed and reported, they have constructed bodies: the homosexual body, the HIV-infected body, the infertile body, the deaf body, the colonized body, and the criminal body.

Book Sexual Behavior in the Human Female

Download or read book Sexual Behavior in the Human Female written by Alfred C. Kinsey and published by Indiana University Press. This book was released on 1998-05-22 with total page 885 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The groundbreaking Kinsey Report study on female sexuality from “one of the most influential figures in American intellectual history” (The New York Times). Originally published in 1953, the material presented in Sexual Behavior in the Human Female was derived from personal interviews with nearly 6,000 women; from studies in sexual anatomy, physiology, psychology, and endocrinology. The study revealed the incidence and frequency with which women participate in various types of sexual activity and how such factors as age, decade of birth, and religious adherence are reflected in patterns of sexual behavior. The authors make comparisons of female and male sexual activities and investigate the factors which account for the similarities and differences between female and male patterns of behavior and provide some measure of the social significance of the various types of sexual behavior. “[It] shocked the world in 1953 with its explicit revelations. Countries banned it. Churches berated it. Some scholars scoffed . . . but it was an instant success, selling 270,000 copies in less than a month . . . [Kinsey] made headlines around the globe with his findings on such things as masturbation, sex before marriage and adultery.”—CBSNews.com
