Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Polymer-Layered Silicate and Silica Nanocomposites includes advanced materials and nanocomposites based on silica and layered silicates obtained from resources in China. Using nanotechnology, these inorganic materials can be filled, in-situ polymerised and combined with polymers with nanoscale dispersions. In this book, many practical examples are presented to show how to prepare the nanocomposites. Several kinds of polymer (PET,PBT,PE,PP,etc.)-layered silicate and silica nanocomposites are prepared and investigated based on our research works, inventions and applications. They are prepared and modified aiming at their applications to such fields as, functional films, barrier materials, coatings, and engineering plastics. Their structure-property relationship, especially the nano effects from them are investigated under different techniques to show how the critical load of the inorganic phase has the effect on the final properties of the nanocomposite materials. Obviously, this new generation of materials has revolutionary effects on the traditional materials or industry as petroleum. Some of the prospects of them are thus included. Focus on the inorganic phase, which is of wide practical and industrial significance Dealing with many first report of the nanoeffect, nanostructure and its functional properties Especially, it covers the particle assembly and self-assemble by interaction with polymer matrix

Book Synthesis and Characterization of Structurally Well defined Polymer layered Silicate Nanocomposites

Download or read book Synthesis and Characterization of Structurally Well defined Polymer layered Silicate Nanocomposites written by and published by . This book was released on 2007 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Abstract Polymer-layered silicate (PLS) nanocomposites are often based on natural clays such as montmorillonite. In EPR and NMR studies of the surfactant layer that compatibilizes the silicate and the polymer, we found that the iron content in these natural clays is detrimental, as it broadens spectra and shortens relaxation times. The problem was overcome by using as a layered silicate iron-free and structurally well defined magadiite, which was synthesized by a hydrothermal method. The morphology of the magadiite and the extent of intercalation in melt-prepared polymer-organo-magadiite nanocomposites were characterized by scanning electron microscopy ΔΚ αλγ ςζγδαλϛιδ τοαυ πϐαϟϟδοζλϛ ΑΤΠ οδπνδϐϟζσδιυ Ακμλϛ γζεεδοδλϟ ϟυνδπ με νμιυκδοπ ϟϝμπδ ςζϟϝ ϐαοβμλυι ϛομρνπ αννδαο ϟμ ζλϟδοϐαιαϟδ κμοδ δαπζιυ ζϟϝ ζομλεοδδ καϛαγζζϟδ νμιυϐανομιαϐϟμλδ ΝΙ ςαπ εμρλγ ϟμ ζλϟδοϐαιαϟδ ζλϟμ βμϟϝ ακκμλζρκ προεαϐϟαλϟ κμγζεζδγ αλγ νϝμπνϝμλζρκ προεαϐϟαλϟ κμγζεζδγ μοϛαλμκαϛαγζζϟδπ Βυ ρπζλϛ πζϟδπνδϐζεζϐ λζϟομτζγδ πνζλ νομβδπ αλγ αννιυζλϛ ΔΝΟ μλϟζλρμρπ ασδ Διδϐϟομλ Ναοακαϛλδϟζϐ Οδπμλαλϐδ αλγ νριπδ ΔΝΟ ϟδϐϝλζξρδπ ϟϝδ γυλακζϐπ αλγ πναϟζαι πϟορϐϟροδ με προεαϐϟαλϟ ιαυδοπ ζλ πρϐϝ λαλμϐμκνμπζϟδπ ςδοδ πϟργζδγ Πϟαϟζϐ “Ϝ Λρϐιδαο Καϛλδϟζϐ Οδπμλαλϐδ ΛΚΟ μλ πνδϐζεζϐαιιυ γδρϟδοαϟδγ ϐαϟζμλζϐ προεαϐϟαλϟπ ςαπ αιπμ αννιζδγ ϟμ αϐϐδππ προεαϐϟαλϟ κμϟζμλ μλ α ϐμκνιδκδλϟαου ϟζκδ πϐαιδ κζιιζπδϐμλγπ ϟμ κζϐομπδϐμλγπ ϐμκναοδγ ϟμ ΔΝΟ λαλμπδϐμλγπ Βυ ΔΝΟ αλγ “Ϝ ΛΚΟ εαπϟ κμϟζμλ με προεαϐϟαλϟ ιαυδοπ ςαπ εμρλγ ϟμ βδ νομλμρλϐδγ βυ ζλϟδοϐαιαϟζμλ με ΝΙ ςϝζιδ ζϟ γζκζλζπϝδπ ζλ λμλζλϟδοϐαιαϟδγ κζϐομϐμκνμπζϟδπ ςζϟϝ νμιυπϟυοδλδ ΝΠ Ϟϝδ ομϟαϟζμλαι ϐμοοδιαϟζμλ ϟζκδπ „ϐ αλγ αϐϟζσαϟζμλ δλδοϛζδπ Δα οδσδαι γζεεδοδλϟ οδϛζκδπ με οδμοζδλϟαϟζμλ με προεαϐϟαλϟ κμιδϐριδπ ςζϟϝ ζλϐοδαπζλϛ ϟδκνδοαϟροδ Ϟϝδ ϟοαλπζϟζμλ ϟδκνδοαϟροδ βδϟςδδλ ϟϝδ οδϛζκδπ ζπ οδιαϟδγ ϟμ Ϟϛ με ΝΠ ζλ κζϐομϐμκνμπζϟδπ αλγ ϟμ ϟϝδ κδιϟζλϛ ϟδκνδοαϟροδ Ϟκ με ΝΙ ζλ λαλμϐμκνμπζϟδπ Ϟϝδ ζομλεοδδ καϛαγζζϟδ ιδαγπ ϟμ πρβπϟαλϟζαιιυ ιμλϛδο διδϐϟομλ

Download or read book Processing of Polymer based Nanocomposites written by Suprakas Sinha Ray and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-09-07 with total page 156 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Processing of polymer nanocomposites usually requires special attention since the resultant structure—micro- and nano-level, is directly influenced by among other factors, polymer/nano-additive chemistry and the processing strategy. This book consolidates knowledge, from fundamental to product development, on polymer nanocomposites processing with special emphasis on the processing-structure-property-performance relationships in a wide range of polymer nanocomposites. Furthermore, this book focuses on emerging processing technologies such as electrospinning, which has very exciting applications ranging from medical to filtration. Additionally, the important role played by the nanoparticles in polymer blends structures has been illustrated in the current book, with special focus on fundamental aspects and properties of nanoparticles migration and interface crossing in immiscible polymer blend nanocomposites. This book introduces readers to nanomaterials and polymer nanocomposites processing. After defining nanoparticles and polymer nanocomposites and discussing environmental aspects, the second chapter focuses on the synthesis and functionalization of nanomaterials with applications in polymers. A brief overview on nanoclay and nanoclay-containing polymer nanocomposites is provided in third chapter. The fourth chapter provides an overview of the polymer nanocomposites structural elucidation techniques, such as X-ray diffraction and scattering, microscopy and spectroscopy, rheology. The fifth chapter is dedicated to the polymer nanocomposites processing technologies, among which electrospinning, which has very exciting applications ranging from medical to filtration. The last chapter provides an overview on how melt-processing strategy impact structure and mechanical properties of polymer nanocomposites by taking polypropylene-clay nanocomposite as a model system. The book is useful to undergraduate and postgraduate students (polymer engineering, materials science & engineering, chemical & process engineering), as well as research & development personnel, engineers, and material scientists.

Book Polymer layered Silicate Nanocomposites by Melt Processing

Download or read book Polymer layered Silicate Nanocomposites by Melt Processing written by Rhutesh Kishorkant Shah and published by . This book was released on 2006 with total page 246 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Polymer-layered silicate nanocomposites formed from the organically modified clay mineral montmorillonite and related materials have attracted a great deal of technological and scientific interest in the past decade. These composites offer the promise of greatly improved mechanical, thermal, and barrier properties over those of the matrix polymer owing to the nanoscale reinforcement and constraints of the polymer caused by dispersing the one nanometer thick, high aspect ratio aluminosilicate (clay) layers. The central scientific issue is how to achieve a high level of dispersion, and ultimately full exfoliation of the clay platelets within the polymer matrix since this is necessary to realize the large filler aspect ratios. Although several factors play a role in organoclay exfoliation, it seems to be largely dependent upon a complex array of interactions between the polymer matrix and the organoclay.
