But my husband's story of when he was growing up in Nazi Slovakia was told to me so very vividly by my mother-in-law, Anna, and by my husband, Martin, that I for many years began to think of myself as a survivor of the Holocaust. I am proud to have known Martin for the years that I was privileged to have been married to him. I have loved him always and always will love him. He was special because he was always a believer in the truth. I am trying to follow in his footsteps.
