Book Two Dimensional Quadratic Nonlinear Systems

Download or read book Two Dimensional Quadratic Nonlinear Systems written by Albert C. J. Luo and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-03-29 with total page 453 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book focuses on the nonlinear dynamics based on the vector fields with bivariate quadratic functions. This book is a unique monograph for two-dimensional quadratic nonlinear systems based on bivariate vector fields. Such a book provides different points of view about nonlinear dynamics and bifurcations of the quadratic dynamical systems on linear and nonlinear bivariate manifolds. Possible singular dynamics of the two-dimensional quadratic systems is discussed in detail. The dynamics of equilibriums and one-dimensional flows on bivariate manifolds are presented. Saddle-focus bifurcations are discussed, and switching bifurcations based on infinite-equilibriums are presented. Saddle-focus networks on bivariate manifolds are demonstrated. This book will serve as a reference book on dynamical systems and control for researchers, students and engineering in mathematics, mechanical and electrical engineering.

Book Continuous Symmetries and Integrability of Discrete Equations

Download or read book Continuous Symmetries and Integrability of Discrete Equations written by Decio Levi and published by American Mathematical Society, Centre de Recherches Mathématiques. This book was released on 2023-01-23 with total page 520 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book on integrable systems and symmetries presents new results on applications of symmetries and integrability techniques to the case of equations defined on the lattice. This relatively new field has many applications, for example, in describing the evolution of crystals and molecular systems defined on lattices, and in finding numerical approximations for differential equations preserving their symmetries. The book contains three chapters and five appendices. The first chapter is an introduction to the general ideas about symmetries, lattices, differential difference and partial difference equations and Lie point symmetries defined on them. Chapter 2 deals with integrable and linearizable systems in two dimensions. The authors start from the prototype of integrable and linearizable partial differential equations, the Korteweg de Vries and the Burgers equations. Then they consider the best known integrable differential difference and partial difference equations. Chapter 3 considers generalized symmetries and conserved densities as integrability criteria. The appendices provide details which may help the readers' understanding of the subjects presented in Chapters 2 and 3. This book is written for PhD students and early researchers, both in theoretical physics and in applied mathematics, who are interested in the study of symmetries and integrability of difference equations.

Download or read book Nonlinear Systems written by P. G. Drazin and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 1992-06-26 with total page 354 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The theories of bifurcation, chaos and fractals as well as equilibrium, stability and nonlinear oscillations, are part of the theory of the evolution of solutions of nonlinear equations. A wide range of mathematical tools and ideas are drawn together in the study of these solutions, and the results applied to diverse and countless problems in the natural and social sciences, even philosophy. The text evolves from courses given by the author in the UK and the United States. It introduces the mathematical properties of nonlinear systems, mostly difference and differential equations, as an integrated theory, rather than presenting isolated fashionable topics. Topics are discussed in as concrete a way as possible and worked examples and problems are used to explain, motivate and illustrate the general principles. The essence of these principles, rather than proof or rigour, is emphasized. More advanced parts of the text are denoted by asterisks, and the mathematical prerequisites are limited to knowledge of linear algebra and advanced calculus, thus making it ideally suited to both senior undergraduates and postgraduates from physics, engineering, chemistry, meteorology etc. as well as mathematics.

Book Two Dimensional Quadratic Nonlinear Systems

Download or read book Two Dimensional Quadratic Nonlinear Systems written by Albert C. J. Luo and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-04-19 with total page 692 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book focuses on the nonlinear dynamics based on the vector fields with univariate quadratic functions. This book is a unique monograph for two-dimensional quadratic nonlinear systems. It provides different points of view about nonlinear dynamics and bifurcations of the quadratic dynamical systems. Such a two-dimensional dynamical system is one of simplest dynamical systems in nonlinear dynamics, but the local and global structures of equilibriums and flows in such two-dimensional quadratic systems help us understand other nonlinear dynamical systems, which is also a crucial step toward solving the Hilbert’s sixteenth problem. Possible singular dynamics of the two-dimensional quadratic systems are discussed in detail. The dynamics of equilibriums and one-dimensional flows in two-dimensional systems are presented. Saddle-sink and saddle-source bifurcations are discussed, and saddle-center bifurcations are presented. The infinite-equilibrium states are switching bifurcations for nonlinear systems. From the first integral manifolds, the saddle-center networks are developed, and the networks of saddles, source, and sink are also presented. This book serves as a reference book on dynamical systems and control for researchers, students, and engineering in mathematics, mechanical, and electrical engineering.

Book Stability Analysis of Nonlinear Systems

Download or read book Stability Analysis of Nonlinear Systems written by Vangipuram Lakshmikantham and published by Birkhäuser. This book was released on 2015-12-29 with total page 339 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book investigates stability theory in terms of two different measure, exhibiting the advantage of employing families of Lyapunov functions and treats the theory of a variety of inequalities, clearly bringing out the underlying theme. It also demonstrates manifestations of the general Lyapunov method, showing how this technique can be adapted to various apparently diverse nonlinear problems. Furthermore it discusses the application of theoretical results to several different models chosen from real world phenomena, furnishing data that is particularly relevant for practitioners. Stability Analysis of Nonlinear Systems is an invaluable single-sourse reference for industrial and applied mathematicians, statisticians, engineers, researchers in the applied sciences, and graduate students studying differential equations.

Book Nonlinear Systems and Applications

Download or read book Nonlinear Systems and Applications written by V. Lakshmikantham and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2014-05-12 with total page 717 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nonlinear Systems and Applications: An International Conference contains the proceedings of an International Conference on Nonlinear Systems and Applications held at the University of Texas at Arlington, on July 19-23, 1976. The conference provided a forum for reviewing advances in nonlinear systems and their applications and tackled a wide array of topics ranging from abstract evolution equations and nonlinear semigroups to controllability and reachability. Various methods used in solving equations are also discussed, including approximation techniques for delay systems. Most of the applications are in the area of the life sciences. Comprised of 59 chapters, this book begins with a discussion on monotonically convergent upper and lower bounds for classes of conflicting populations, followed by an analysis of constrained problems. The reader is then introduced to approximation techniques for delay systems in biological models; differential inequalities for Liapunov functions; and stability or chaos in discrete epidemic models. Subsequent chapters deal with nonlinear boundary value problems for elliptic systems; bounds for solutions of reaction-diffusion equations; monotonicity and measurability; and periodic solutions of some integral equations from the theory of epidemics. This monograph will be helpful to students, practitioners, and researchers in the field of mathematics.
