Book Intelligent Automated Control of Robotic Systems for Environmental Restoration

Download or read book Intelligent Automated Control of Robotic Systems for Environmental Restoration written by and published by . This book was released on 1992 with total page 9 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The US Department of Energy's Office of Technology Development (OTD) has sponsored the development of the Generic Intelligent System Controller (GISC) for application to remote system control. Of primary interest to the OTD is the development of technologies which result in faster, safer, and cheaper cleanup of hazardous waste sites than possible using conventional approaches. The objective of the GISC development project is to support these goals by developing a modular robotics control approach which reduces the time and cost of development by allowing reuse of control system software and uses computer models to improve the safety of remote site cleanup while reducing the time and life cycle costs.

Book Control Design and Analysis for Underactuated Robotic Systems

Download or read book Control Design and Analysis for Underactuated Robotic Systems written by Xin Xin and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2014-01-03 with total page 326 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The last two decades have witnessed considerable progress in the study of underactuated robotic systems (URSs). Control Design and Analysis for Underactuated Robotic Systems presents a unified treatment of control design and analysis for a class of URSs, which include systems with multiple-degree-of-freedom and/or with underactuation degree two. It presents novel notions, features, design techniques and strictly global motion analysis results for these systems. These new materials are shown to be vital in studying the control design and stability analysis of URSs. Control Design and Analysis for Underactuated Robotic Systems includes the modelling, control design and analysis presented in a systematic way particularly for the following examples: l directly and remotely driven Acrobots l Pendubot l rotational pendulum l counter-weighted Acrobot 2-link underactuated robot with flexible elbow joint l variable-length pendulum l 3-link gymnastic robot with passive first joint l n-link planar robot with passive first joint l n-link planar robot with passive single joint double, or two parallel pendulums on a cart l 3-link planar robots with underactuation degree two 2-link free flying robot The theoretical developments are validated by experimental results for the remotely driven Acrobot and the rotational pendulum. Control Design and Analysis for Underactuated Robotic Systems is intended for advanced undergraduate and graduate students and researchers in the area of control systems, mechanical and robotics systems, nonlinear systems and oscillation. This text will not only enable the reader to gain a better understanding of the power and fundamental limitations of linear and nonlinear control theory for the control design and analysis for these URSs, but also inspire the reader to address the challenges of more complex URSs.

Book Non Adaptive and Adaptive Control of Manipulation Robots

Download or read book Non Adaptive and Adaptive Control of Manipulation Robots written by M. Vukobratovic and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-12-11 with total page 394 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The material presented in this monograph is a logical continuation of research results achieved in the control of manipulation robots. This is in a way, a synthesis of many-year research efforts of the associates of Robotics Department, Mihailo Pupin Institute, in the field of dynamic control.of robotic systems. As in Vol. 2 of this Series, all results rely on the mathematical models of dynamics of active spatial mechanisms which offer the possibility for adequate dynamic control of manipula tion robots. Compared with Vol. 2, this monograph has three essential new character istics, and a variety of new tasks arising in the control of robots which have been formulated and solved for the first time. One of these novelties is nonadaptive control synthesized for the case of large variations in payload parameters, under the condition that the practical stability of the overall system is satisfied. Such a case of control synthesis meets the actual today's needs in industrial robot applications. The second characteristic of the monograph is the efficient adaptive control algorithm based on decentralized control structure intended for tasks in which parameter variations cannot be specified in advance. To be objective, this is not the case in industrial robotics today. Thus, nonadaptive control with and without a particular parameter variation is supplemented by adaptive dynamic control algorithms which will cer tainly be applicable in the future industrial practice when parametric identification of workpieces will be required.
