Book Cryptology Transmitted Message Protection

Download or read book Cryptology Transmitted Message Protection written by Igor Izmailov and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-06-24 with total page 386 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents methods to improve information security for protected communication. It combines and applies interdisciplinary scientific engineering concepts, including cryptography, chaos theory, nonlinear and singular optics, radio-electronics and self-changing artificial systems. It also introduces additional ways to improve information security using optical vortices as information carriers and self-controlled nonlinearity, with nonlinearity playing a key "evolving" role. The proposed solutions allow the universal phenomenon of deterministic chaos to be discussed in the context of information security problems on the basis of examples of both electronic and optical systems. Further, the book presents the vortex detector and communication systems and describes mathematical models of the chaos oscillator as a coder in the synchronous chaotic communication and appropriate decoders, demonstrating their efficiency both analytically and experimentally. Lastly it discusses the cryptologic features of analyzed systems and suggests a series of new structures for confident communication.

Book Superconducting Quantum Electronics

Download or read book Superconducting Quantum Electronics written by Volkmar Kose and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 313 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With the surprising discovery of superconductivity at temperatures above 100 K, this field was not only brought into the public eye, but also stimulated research in universities, scientific institutions and industry, thus continuing the fascinating development which began with the discovery of the Josephson effect in the sixties. Cryoelectronics has become a special branch of cryophysics and cryotechnics and today plays a prominent role whenever high resolution and precision measurements are required. Motivated by this development, seven years ago scientists working in cryoelectronics in the Federal Republic of Germany felt the necessity for regular meetings allowing a free exchange of ideas and results achieved. Seminars under the title of "Kryoelektronische Bauelemente" were held for the first time at the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt in Braunschweig in 1982 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Walther MeiBner, a pioneer in superconductivity. Since then, meetings have been held every year at different venues in Germany. It is now felt that the status of this field necessitates a review of the results of the past, a description of the current state of the art, and a discussion of future perspectives. This book, entitled SUPERCONDUCTING QUANTUM ELECTRONICS is a collection of invited lectures and contributions which will inform the reader on the most interesting problems involving fundamentals, sensitive detectors and precision metrology being studied by different groups.

Book Electricity Supply Systems of the Future

Download or read book Electricity Supply Systems of the Future written by Nikos Hatziargyriou and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-07-20 with total page 663 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book offers a vision of the future of electricity supply systems and CIGRE’s views on the know-how that will be needed to manage the transition toward them. A variety of factors are driving a transition of electricity supply systems to new supply models, in particular the increasing use of renewable sources, environmental factors and developments in ICT technologies. These factors suggest that there are two possible models for power network development, and that those models are not necessarily exclusive: 1. An increasing importance of large networks for bulk transmission capable of interconnecting load regions and large centralized renewable generation resources, including offshore and of providing more interconnections between the various countries and energy markets. 2. An emergence of clusters of small, largely self-contained distribution networks, which include decentralized local generation, energy storage and active customer participation, intelligently managed so that they operate as active networks providing local active and reactive support. The electricity supply systems of the future will likely include a combination of the above two models, since additional bulk connections and active distribution networks are needed in order to reach ambitious environmental, economic and security-reliability targets. This concise yet comprehensive reference resource on technological developments for future electrical systems has been written and reviewed by experts and the Chairs of the sixteen Study Committees that form the Technical Council of CIGRE.

Book Dynamics of Gas Surface Interactions

Download or read book Dynamics of Gas Surface Interactions written by Ricardo Diez Muino and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-02-26 with total page 439 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book gives a representative survey of the state of the art of research on gas-surface interactions. It provides an overview of the current understanding of gas surface dynamics and, in particular, of the reactive and non-reactive processes of atoms and small molecules at surfaces. Leading scientists in the field, both from the theoretical and the experimental sides, write in this book about their most recent advances. Surface science grew as an interdisciplinary research area over the last decades, mostly because of new experimental technologies (ultra-high vacuum, for instance), as well as because of a novel paradigm, the ‘surface science’ approach. The book describes the second transformation which is now taking place pushed by the availability of powerful quantum-mechanical theoretical methods implemented numerically. In the book, experiment and theory progress hand in hand with an unprecedented degree of accuracy and control. The book presents how modern surface science targets the atomic-level understanding of physical and chemical processes at surfaces, with particular emphasis on dynamical aspects. This book is a reference in the field.

Book Dynamic Decision Support for Electronic Requirements Negotiations

Download or read book Dynamic Decision Support for Electronic Requirements Negotiations written by Annika Lenz and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-07-16 with total page 123 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Annika Lenz develops an interactive preference measurement method, which provides dynamic preference adjustment, to assess alternatives in terms of utility for an individual decision maker throughout the requirements negotiation process. Consequently, interactive dynamic decision support is designed, which can handle changes related to requirements dynamically. An empirical study shows that the newly developed method is both objectively and subjectively more efficient than a static alternative. Thus, it is argued that efficient preference adjustment enables decision support based on up-to-date preferences. The designed support component is compared to two state-of-the-art approaches for decision support in requirements negotiations.

Book State of the art Report on Non traditional Traffic Counting Methods

Download or read book State of the art Report on Non traditional Traffic Counting Methods written by Sherry L. Skszek and published by . This book was released on 2001 with total page 88 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The purpose of this report is to look at the state-of-the-art of non-traditional traffic counting methods. This is done through a three-fold approach that includes an assessment of currently available technology, a survey of State Department of Transportation practices, and a review of the literature. Traditional traffic counting has utilized intrusive devices including bending plate, pneumatic road tube, inductive loops, and piezo-electric sensors. As safety, cost, increased traffic flow, complex road geometrics, and traffic disruption have become issues of concern, traffic counting professionals are looking more closely at alternatives to traditional methods of data collection. Such non-traditional traffic counting devices as video image detection, Doppler microwave, passive magnetic, passive acoustic, active and passive infrared, and active and passive ultrasonic are being considered due to their non-intrusive nature. Information on available technology including cost, installation requirements, technical specifications, data retrieval, and limitations of the products are addressed. This information is followed by a summary of State practices that shows very limited usage of non-intrusive technology. Lastly, a review of the literature indicates there is little in the way of "new" technology. However, several evaluations of non-intrusive devices provide valuable information to traffic counting professionals that will assist in decision-making regarding upgrades to current practices
