Book excerpt: Penetrant Testing: Principles, Techniques, and Applications - Interview Q&A with Experts" is a comprehensive guide that provides a detailed overview of the principles, techniques, and applications of liquid penetrant inspection (LPI) or dye penetrant testing (DPT) for detecting surface-breaking defects in materials. In addition to covering the fundamental concepts of penetrant testing, this book also features a series of exclusive interview Q&A sessions with leading experts in the field. The experts share their insights and experiences on a wide range of topics related to penetrant testing, such as best practices, emerging technologies, and industry applications. The NDT book is divided into several chapters that cover different aspects of penetrant testing, including the penetrant testing process, penetrant testing materials, surface preparation and test conditions, evaluation of indications, applications of penetrant testing, quality assurance and training, and future developments and emerging technologies. With its practical insights and detailed information, "NDT Penetrant Testing: Principles, Techniques, and Applications - Interview Q&A with Experts" is an indispensable resource for engineers, technicians, inspectors, and anyone who is involved in non-destructive testing (NDT) and quality control.

Book The Welding Engineer s Guide to Fracture and Fatigue

Download or read book The Welding Engineer s Guide to Fracture and Fatigue written by Philippa L Moore and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2014-11-21 with total page 227 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Welding Engineer's Guide to Fracture and Fatigue provides an essential introduction to fracture and fatigue and the assessment of these failure modes, through to the level of knowledge that would be expected of a qualified welding engineer. Part one covers the basic principles of weld fracture and fatigue. It begins with a review of the design of engineered structures, provides descriptions of typical welding defects and how these defects behave in structures undergoing static and cyclical loading, and explains the range of failure modes. Part two then explains how to detect and assess defects using fitness for service assessment procedures. Throughout, the book assumes no prior knowledge and explains concepts from first principles. This book was released on 2016-05-02 with total page 531 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Structural Steel Design to Eurocode 3 and AISC Specifications deals with the theory and practical applications of structural steel design in Europe and the USA. The book covers appropriate theoretical and background information, followed by a more design‐oriented coverage focusing on European and United States specifications and practices, allowing the reader to directly compare the approaches and results of both codes. Chapters follow a general plan, covering: A general section covering the relevant topics for the chapter, based on classical theory and recent research developments A detailed section covering design and detailing to Eurocode 3 specification A detailed section covering design and detailing to AISC specifications Fully worked examples are using both codes are presented. With construction companies working in increasingly international environments, engineers are more and more likely to encounter both codes. Written for design engineers and students of civil and structural engineering, this book will help both groups to become conversant with both code systems.

Book MATERIAL SELECTION AND CORROSION Volume I

Book China Standard GB T 15822 1 2005 Non destructive Testing Magnetic Particle Testing Part 1 General Principles

Download or read book China Standard GB T 15822 1 2005 Non destructive Testing Magnetic Particle Testing Part 1 General Principles written by www.1clicktong.com and published by Risk Management 1 Click Tong. This book was released on 2020-10-15 with total page 23 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This part of GB/T 15822 specifies the general principles for magnetic particle testing of ferromagnetic materials. The magnetic particle testing is mainly used to test the discontinuity of surface openings (especially cracks) and also the near-surface discontinuity when its sensitivity, however, drops quickly with depth. This part defines surface preparation of tested workpieces, magnetization technology and the requirements for and application of detection media, as well as the recording and interpretation of results arising therefrom. No provision has been made for the acceptance criteria. As for the magnetic particle testing on special items, additional requirements will be specified according to product standard. The residual magnetic method is non-applicable to this part.
