Book excerpt: La responsabilidad profesional medica se basa en los actos, omisiones y errores voluntarios e incluso involuntarios que comete cualquier medico en el ejercicio de su profesion. Muchos de nosotros los hemos cometidos por ignorancia (desconociento de nuestros derechos y deberes). Esto nos motivo a:determinar el nivel de conocimientos sobre "Responsabilidad Profesional Medica" de los internos de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad Nacional de San Agustin; ya que estos en el SERUMS ya adquieren responsabilidad legal de sus actos. La poblacion estudiada, luego de aplicar el criterio, de exclusion estuvo constituida por 96 personas, teniendo una tasa de no respuesta del 6.8 por ciento a los cuales se les aplico una encuesta de 20 preguntas la que se extrajo y adapto de Handbook of Legal Medicine. Para calificar el nivel de conocimientos utilizamos la empleada por la Secretaria Academica de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad Nacional de San Agustin, para la calificacion de las tesis. Se determino frecuencias absolutas y relativas; y medidas o estimaciones de tendencia central y de dispersion. Encontrandose los siguientes resultados: la calificacion minima de 03 y la maxima de 13. Dentro de las categorias establecidas solo se distribuyen en las dos primeras (Regular: 27.08 por ciento y deficiente: 72.92 por ciento). Se encontro una x = 9.02, DE = 2.16 para la poblacion estudiada y para las categorias: 8.04 n 1.62 y 11.65 n 0.79 respectivamente; y un CV de 23.94 por ciento, 6.78 por ciento y 20.14 por ciento respectivamente lo cual nos indica que la poblacion en estudio fue homogeneo. En conclusion: la cuarta parte de la poblacion tiene un regular conocimiento sobre responsabilidad profesional medica obteniendo la mayoria una calificacion desaprobatoria.
