With the assistance of a new acquaintance he meets, Steven Boyd decides to use black magic as a new weapon against Pedro and his friends. With deadly results, he attacks and it appears he might be winning the war. He should be happy but is surprised and horrified to discover that there will always be a price to pay for using black magic.

This type of combat puts civilians at more risk than ever, as financial, communication, transportation, and other infrastructure systems become prime military targets. And information warfare puts the United States -- a nation increasingly dependent on technology -- in a position of both definite advantage and extreme vulnerability.
