Copies of London newspapers from this time also feature at the end of this item and refer to "the division of new Zealand provinces" and legislation passed to financially assist the New Zealand Company "to make further provision for the Government of the New Zealand Islands."

Such papers set out conditions upon which passage was granted, terms of payment, deposits to be paid to those receiving assistance, forms of application, subsequent proceedings relative to departure processes and luggage allowances. Small printed items also list the cost of various types of accommodation on board migrant ships, dependant upon the age and sex of the passenger.
