The results are graphically displayed and are compared with existing activation measurements. These data are adjusted as needed to account for recent revisions in the nuclear constants and cross section standards. The adjusted results are subsequently transformed to equivalent cross sections at 14.7 MeV for the evaluation process. The evaluations are performed utilizing a least-squares method which considers correlations between the experimental data. 440 refs., 41 figs., 46 tabs.

The precompound process was included above 5 MeV in addition to the compound process. For the inelastic scattering, the contribution of the direct interaction was calculated with DWBA. 36 refs., 23 figs., 11 tabs.

Book excerpt: Measurements of the charged current reactions [sup 12]C([ital v][sub e], e[sup -])[sup 12]N and [sup 12]C([ital v][sub [mu]], [mu][sup -])[sup 12]N for inclusive transitions to [sup 12]N excited states and exclusive transitions to [sup 12]N, are presented. The data presented represent 3 years of running of the LSND experiments and are from runs in 1993, 1994, and 1995 and total to 14772 Coulombs of protons on target. The [ital v][sub e] scattering and [ital v][sub [mu][sup -]] exclusive scattering results are in good agreement with theoretical expectations, while the [ital v][sub [mu][sup -]] inclusive scattering results are smaller than expected from a continuum random phase calculation.
