Book Vacuum Technology Transactions

Download or read book Vacuum Technology Transactions written by C. Robert Meissner and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2016-04-20 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Vacuum Technology Transactions covers the proceedings of the Sixth National Symposium on Vacuum Technology Transactions, held in Philadelphia on October 7-9, 1959, sponsored by the American Vacuum Society. This book is organized into eight parts encompassing 57 chapters. The opening part deals with the important role of spectroscopic studies in vacuum science, particularly in ultra-high-vacuum investigations. The next parts describe the production, design, and requirements of ultra-high-vacuum systems; methods of measurement and applications of vacuum systems; and the application of vacuum technology in various scientific fields. The remaining parts are devoted to thin films and their application, vacuum system components, as well as the design considerations and use of getter-ion pumps in vacuum systems. Non-specialized and specialized engineers will find this book rewarding.

Book Vacuum Technology

Download or read book Vacuum Technology and Space Simulation written by D.J. Santeler and published by American Institute of Physics. This book was released on 1992-12-31 with total page 360 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Market: Those involved in vacuum technology and complex vacuum facilities. While specific projects have changed in the 30 years since this book was first published, the need for large complex vacuum facilities has not. And despite new developments in pumping, measurement, and outgassing, this book will remain for many years to come the standard of practical vacuum operation.

Book A Review Ultrahigh Vacuum Technology for Electron Microscopes

Download or read book A Review Ultrahigh Vacuum Technology for Electron Microscopes written by Nagamitsu Yoshimura and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2020-02-15 with total page 575 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Review: Ultrahigh-Vacuum Technology for Electron Microscopes provides information on the fundamentals of ultra-high vacuum systems. It covers the very subtle process that can help increase pressure inside the microscope (or inside any other ultra-high vacuum system) and the different behavior of the molecules contributing to this kind of process. Prof Yoshimura’s book offers detailed information on electron microscope components, as well as UHV technology. This book is an ideal resource for industrial microscopists, engineers and scientists responsible for the design, operation and maintenance of electron microscopes. In addition, engineering students or engineers working with electron microscopes will find it useful. Teaches how to incorporate diffusion pumps for UHV electron microscopy Presents the work of an author who brings a lifetime of experience working on vacuum technology and electron microscopes

Download or read book Thin Film Device Applications written by Kasturi Chopra and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 305 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Two-dimensional materials created ab initio by the process of condensation of atoms, molecules, or ions, called thin films, have unique properties significantly different from the corresponding bulk materials as a result of their physical dimensions, geometry, nonequilibrium microstructure, and metallurgy. Further, these characteristic features of thin films can be drasti cally modified and tailored to obtain the desired and required physical characteristics. These features form the basis of development of a host of extraordinary active and passive thin film device applications in the last two decades. On the one extreme, these applications are in the submicron dimensions in such areas as very large scale integration (VLSI), Josephson junction quantum interference devices, magnetic bubbles, and integrated optics. On the other extreme, large-area thin films are being used as selective coatings for solar thermal conversion, solar cells for photovoltaic conver sion, and protection and passivating layers. Indeed, one would be hard pressed to find many sophisticated modern optical and electronic devices which do not use thin films in one way or the other. With the impetus provided by industrial applications, the science and technology of thin films have undergone revolutionary development and even today continue to be recognized globally as frontier areas of RID work. Major technical developments in any field of science and technology are invariably accompanied by an explosion of published literature in the form of scientific publications, reviews, and books.

Book A Users Guide to Vacuum Technology

Download or read book A Users Guide to Vacuum Technology written by John F. O'Hanlon and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2023-10-16 with total page 580 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A USERS GUIDE TO VACUUM TECHNOLOGY Choose and understand the vacuum technology that fits your project’s needs with this indispensable guide Vacuum technology is used to provide process environments for other kinds of engineering technology, making it an unsung cornerstone of hundreds of projects incorporating analysis, research and development, manufacturing, and more. Since it is very often a secondary technology, users primarily interested in processes incorporating it will frequently only encounter vacuum technology when purchasing or troubleshooting. There is an urgent need for a guide to vacuum technology made with these users in mind. For decades, A User’s Guide to Vacuum Technology has met this need, with a user-focused introduction to vacuum technology as it is incorporated into semiconductor, optics, solar sell, and other engineering processes. With an emphasis on otherwise neglected subjects and on accessibility to the secondary user of vacuum technology, it balances treatment of older systems that are still in use with a survey of the latest cutting-edge technologies. The result promises to continue as the essential guide to vacuum systems. Readers of the fourth edition of A User’s Guide to Vacuum Technology will also find: Expanded treatment of gauges, pumps, materials, systems, and best??operating practices Detailed discussion of cutting-edge topics like ultraclean vacuum and contamination control An authorial team with decades of combined research and engineering experience A User’s Guide to Vacuum Technology is essential for those entering emerging STEM programs, engineering professionals and graduate students working with a huge range of engineering technologies.
