Book How My Mother Became My Guardian Angel

Download or read book How My Mother Became My Guardian Angel written by Brenda Jenkins and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2011-01-27 with total page 279 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How my mother became my guardian angel is a bookbased on my life after losing my beautiful mother. I was 18 years old with an 8 month old baby not knowing where I was going to go. My life then became a huge struggle; I became homeless, physically and mentally abused. I started screaming and crying for my mother which took me into a dark grieving depression. The only person that took me out of that stage is the person I walk with everyday. His name is Jesus Christ a friend of mine who came and saved me in my darkest days. How my mother became my guardian angel is only the beginning of my brightest and beautiful days. My mother was such a strong beautiful black WOMAN whom GOD made with his delicate hands. After we all had lost our mother my family came to an ugly end. During my struggles and all my pain; I reached up and grabbed a hold of GOD's hand, but one thing our heavenly father did for me is brought my mother in my dreams over and over again. The sun was so pretty and bright the way she came into my life, but when I opened my eyes and saw the daylight it was time to put up my biggest fights. She helped me get through so many struggles and away from people that weren't right in my life. At first when I started dreaming of her I woke up saying, "Something isn't right." Until the day came when I noticed my dreams were only here to strengthen me throughout my life. My mother always told us that she wasn't going to be here forever, but before she leaves this place she wished we would all get it together. I was so young growing up listening to her repeat those words over and over, but one thing I did not know is how her death was the beginning of my deepest darkest struggles. So as you read my story, do yourself a favor and go put on your favorite robe, because once your done reading my story your worries should become very old. I'm dedicating this book to my mother because she could've gone upstairs to heaven and said my job on earth isfinally done. However, as a result of my struggles and screaming her name in pain, she came back in my life to help guide me until my strength I finally regained. I remember one dream I had with her, she was walking on grass sounding like glass "click, click, click", she was waving her hand and smiling at me telling me to tell everyone. I couldn't figure out that dream to save my life! However, after writing this book, now I can say; consider it a job well done!

Book An Angel to Watch Over Me

Download or read book An Angel to Watch Over Me written by Joan Wester Anderson and published by Loyola Press. This book was released on 2012-03-01 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Children are known to have wild imaginzations, which explains why their stuffed animals talk and invisible friends get invited to tea parties. So it's no wonder than when a child reports a personal encounter with an angel, adults tend to dismiss it with a wry smile and say, "That's nice, sweetie. Why don't you go outside and play?" But Joan Wester Anderson says "not so fast." If Jesus himself taught that the kingdom of heaven belongs to children, there's no reason in the world not to believe that God can reveal his love to little ones through angels. In An Angel to Watch Over Me (originally published by Random House in 1994, with sales of 150,000 copies), Anderson shares more than 30 stories of children's experiences with celestial beings--from a boy whose angels helps him conquer his fear of thunderstorms to a girl who is miraculously rescued from her burning home. From angels who combat evil and darkness to angels who bring news of comfort and joy, each of these accounts is grounded in traditional Christian belief, eschewing any New Age interpretation of the events. For all who are open to the possibility that even children can have authentic spiritual lives--and that attaining a certain age is not a prerequisite for God to touch our lives in the form of heavenly helpers--this book is sure to stir the soul and fan the faith.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Thirteen-year-old LISA STEVENS lives in the town of Lindenville with her adoptive parents, JIM and RUTH STEVENS, and her cat, FLUFFY. Early on, she senses her parents? alarm and no longer speaks of the strange VOICE that seems to come from within, a Voice that has warned her away from danger for as long as she can remember. Neither does she mention the way her skin heals instantaneously, leaving absolutely no trace of an injury. Lisa believes the Voice is her guardian angel until he informs her that she must soon return to her original home, a faraway planet called Krumar. Although his cryptic message fills her with despair, Lisa tries to hide her feelings from her family. She cannot bring herself to share her dilemma with her friends, not even her birthday twin, DAVID GRAYSON, Finally, unable to bear her burden alone, Lisa confides in her aunt, JESSICA LAMBERT. Her aunt repeats the story of the custodian who insisted that Lisa was smiling when he found her on the steps of the Lindenville Orphanage. At the hospital, the doctors determine she is five days old and in perfect health. No one comes forward to claim her and the authorities try, but fail, to locate her birth parents. The Voice returns. He informs Lisa that she is a citizen of the Planet Krumar. He tells her that the people on his planet remain everlastingly youthful due to scientists having discovered a way to deactivate the aging gene. She also learns that the ability to heal herself is considered normal in his flawless world. Fearful that the Voice will soon force her to leave Earth forever, Lisa feels a need to do something worthwhile with whatever remaining time she may have on Earth. The Lindenville Nursing home gladly accepts her as a volunteer, and she soon becomes involved with the care of patients. One night while visiting Lisa, her best girlfriend, MARCY, notices that Lisa has a double row of eyelashes and no apparent pores. Although petrified, afraid her secrets are beginning to unravel, Lisa makes light of Marcy?s observation, but suspects that her friend is not fooled. When Lisa learns that her mother has made an appointment for her with DOCTOR BURKE, she becomes uneasy. She is afraid that a technician will take a picture of her brain and find it unlike other brains, then her parents will learn that she is an alien. Lisa cannot bear for them to know the truth about her. Lisa passes her physical with flying colors only to learn that Doctor Burke has suggested that Mom take her to see DOCTOR JAMISON, a psychologist. She fears this head doctor will somehow cause her to accidentally tell him about the Voice. The Voice steps up the frequency of his visits. He tells Lisa that robots have taken over all mundane tasks including the care of the children. The parents are free to amuse themselves in whatever way they choose. This information disturbs Lisa, who feels that all children need a mom and dad to care for them. His perfect world is beginning to sound flawed. MR. LESTER, the nursing home director, approves of Lisa?s idea to set up a regular pet visitor program for the patients. She, Marcy, David and their friends MIKE, CHASE, JENNIFER, GREG, AND ELENA, agree to bring their critters by at a prearranged time and put on a pet show. When Lisa visits the psychologist he administers a number of tests, then tells Mom and Dad that Lisa is super smart. Afraid her friends will find out, she makes her parents promise not to tell. The Voice returns to congratulate Lisa on her test results. He tells her that her high scores are perfectly normal, that on his planet everyone possesses extremely high intelligence. He continues his dialogue with Lisa about her homeland, and says that his people are similar in appearance to the inhabitants of Earth. He refuses to answer when she asks him whether he is a relative. Since she knows it will break their hearts, Lisa simply cannot tell her parents that she is being forced to leave them forever. Instead, she decides to write letters to her family and friends and place them in the small cedar box in her room which she calls her treasure chest. She knows that Mom will be sure to find them there. Lisa learns that the Voice has dark brown eyes like hers, but he still refuses to tell her whether they are related. She suspects that they are. After he leaves, Lisa sits at her bedroom desk and begins to write the letter to Mom and Dad in which she tells them how much she loves them and tries to explain the unexplainable. At the nursing home, MRS. LASSITER, a patient who has no family left, asks if she can become Lisa?s extra grandmother. Convinced that one cannot have too many grandmothers, Lisa happily agrees. A few days later Mrs. Lassiter presents her with a beautiful bracelet with eight dangling gold charms. She tells Lisa that it is an early birthday present. Her parents worry that it may be inappropriate for Lisa to accept such an expensive gift. But she is able to convince them that had she refused, it would have hurt her friend?s feelings. On the fourth of July David and Lisa celebrate their birthdays at a party hosted by her parents. After the guests have gone, Lisa is about to go upstairs when the doorbell rings and someone leaves a parcel on the front porch, then disappears unseen. The package contains an exquisite fiery pendant attached to a platinum chain. A powerful feeling of peace steals over Lisa when she holds the pendant in her hand. Although the accompanying card is unsigned, she is certain the gift comes from the Voice. Later that night when the Voice appears, he tells Lisa that the stone is Krumar?s most precious gem and is said to safeguard all who wear it. Lisa feels such an hypnotic attraction to the Krumarian Star that she commences to wear it night and day. Lisa goes to the nursing home early one morning to find that her friend is very ill. Mrs. Lassiter tells Lisa goodby, says not to fret, that her dead husband is waiting on the other side to take her hand. When the color begins to leave her adopted Gram?s face, Lisa frantically pushes the call button, but it is too late. Her friend?s funeral is traumatic for Lisa, who has never before experienced the loss of a loved one. The event makes her more determined than ever to store as many happy memories as possible before the Voice forces her to go away. Working from one of their favorite photographs, she begins to paint a portrait of her parents. When it is finished, it will become her last gift to them. When the Voice returns, he leaves Lisa with many unanswered questions about her alien family. Suspecting that he may be her biological father, Lisa attempts to make him understand that her heart will be broken if she has to abandon her Earth parents, and they will be shattered by her leaving. Despite her protests, the Voice persists with his plans for her future. He tells Lisa that soon they will discuss a time frame for her departure. He also says that he will reveal himself to her in person in the near future. Lisa is terrified at the thought of coming face to face with the Voice. She confesses these fears to her aunt Jessica, who is convinced that something horrible is hovering in space waiting to drag Lisa away from her family. Although Jessica feels helpless to avert the impending disaster, she must find a way to save her niece. Lisa?s mother urges her to go shopping for school clothes, but Lisa tries to delay it, since she is almost certain that she will be gone before school starts in the fall. The clothes would be a waste of money, since Lisa thinks that she will be unable t

In this book, the author shares raw events from his abuse that occurred when he was ten years old to about fifteen years old, and the only safe place he could sometimes escape to was his grandma's house and the local church whenever he was allowed to attend. One day, he met a total stranger on the street while jogging who broke his concentration and level of endurance and proceeded to ask several questions out of the blue, causing him to be startled, asking him questions that caused him to confront and reflect back on a part of his life he had tried to deny and forget. This Christian stranger later introduced him to a caring God-fearing man by the name of Pastor Gerald who helped him in changing his life forever. He was told that you cannot conquer that which you do not confront. You must confront the problem before you can conquer it. Book Piecing It All Together

Download or read book Piecing It All Together written by Kathleen Lindsey and published by Elm Hill. This book was released on 2019-03-05 with total page 446 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Piecing it all Together: A Collection of Memoirs depicts various events in my life. The book symbolizes my lifelong story pieced into my imaginary quilt. God and his grace is the strong doubled threads that helped piece my quilted blocks together into a God-given masterpiece. Many years ago, God gave me a special gift - the art of quilt making. In my autobiography, I reveal how I have pieced my sometimes-difficult life together. As a child, I always wanted answers to questions like, “Why do bad things happen to good people?” I was born in the Baby Boomer era, which was a time when children were seen and not heard. As an adult, I have become a voice of utterance through my deliverance in which God has set me free! Through the years I have faced many unpredictable and grievous encounters. I lost my mom at the age of six. When my son was killed by a drunk driver, I wanted to be angry with God, “Why God, why my son? There are so many bad people in this world, Lord.” But He sent me a comforter, the Holy Spirit. I faced many difficult times during my life. Times when I was hungry, the time when I almost drowned, multiple times I was overcome by carbon monoxide, received beatings so much that it broke my spirit, and other occurrences that young children or adults should not have to suffer for the sake of pleasing others. As a young bride I encountered numerous marital problems. Eventually prayer and perseverance made our marital union grow stronger. My faith in God helped me to rise above my difficult dilemmas. He was always there beside me and guiding my footsteps. Today, I enjoy the pleasures and satisfaction of events that life brings. I chose joy! Being a child of God, daughter of the King, and woman of faith, I thank Him every day for loving me, forgiving me, helping me to forgive others, and bringing me comfort and joy in my darkest hours. I thank Him for lifting me up with laughter and joy when I am overwhelmed with love and happiness. He is a Mighty Good God!

Book Love at First Sight

Download or read book Love at First Sight written by Jeanette Larson and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2013-09-26 with total page 140 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Winnifred Winnie Emmons, while working at the local diner, is about to cross paths with a man whose life has been turned upside down by the tragic death of his wife and mother of his four children. Little does he know that the precision with which this young woman can clean, cook, can, and garden will one day influence the lives of his little darlings. Love at First Sight is a compilation of stories that tell of the love that grew between a grieving widower and his young bride and, most of all, tell of the love that grew and was demonstrated in the care and nurturing of his precious children. This book was inspired during the last days of this heroines life as she began to pass out of realitys grasp and into the arms of Alzheimers. Her oldest daughter, now her caregiver, trying to hold on a little longer to the moments of this angels life, began writing a tribute to her, which soon became this book. Winnifred was twenty-three when she married George Johnsen. She was full of life and joy and bursting at the seams to care for her new family. She devoted every hour of her day into keeping her home spotless and organized, filled with the fragrance of homemade breads, fresh jams, jellies, and pickles. She hung out lines of wash until they were crisped by the sun. She ironed pillowcases and curtains until they could stand on their own. She put the same energy into her children, keeping them bathed, clean, and curled, lovingly disciplining and teaching them, bringing them into adulthood with a firm hand but always with love. Four children were a handful, but from the first time she saw them, it was love at first sight.
