Our aim is to provide readers with the highest quality reproductions of fiction and non-fiction literature that has stood the test of time. The many thousands of books in our collection have been sourced from libraries and private collections around the world. The titles that Trieste Publishing has chosen to be part of the collection have been scanned to simulate the original. Our readers see the books the same way that their first readers did decades or a hundred or more years ago. Books from that period are often spoiled by imperfections that did not exist in the original. Imperfections could be in the form of blurred text, photographs, or missing pages. It is highly unlikely that this would occur with one of our books. Our extensive quality control ensures that the readers of Trieste Publishing's books will be delighted with their purchase. Our staff has thoroughly reviewed every page of all the books in the collection, repairing, or if necessary, rejecting titles that are not of the highest quality. This process ensures that the reader of one of Trieste Publishing's titles receives a volume that faithfully reproduces the original, and to the maximum degree possible, gives them the experience of owning the original work.We pride ourselves on not only creating a pathway to an extensive reservoir of books of the finest quality, but also providing value to every one of our readers. Generally, Trieste books are purchased singly - on demand, however they may also be purchased in bulk. Readers interested in bulk purchases are invited to contact us directly to enquire about our tailored bulk rates.

Book excerpt: Excerpt from Museum of Fine Arts Boston: Manual of Italian Renaissance Sculpture One'of the wider problems of the history of fine art is that of its intermittent development. Why has no sculptor of the foremost rank appeared in Italy since Michel Angelo, and why, when Michel Angelo lived, was Raphael also living? May genius be a matter of the heredity of a whole people, or is it occasion only that is lacking in times of artistic depression Why should not art flourish with a measurable continuity Why should it always blossom and decay? Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Boston Museum of Fine Arts: Giving a Descriptive and Critical Account of Its Treasures, Which Represent the Arts and Crafts From Remote Antiquity to the Present Time In preparing this book I have been inspired by the principle so admirably expressed by Miss Amelia B. Edwards, the Egyptologist: "To collect and exhibit objects of ancient art and industry is worse than idle, if we do not also endeavour to disseminate some knowledge of the history of those arts and industries.... Archaeology adds a 'precious seeing to the eye, ' and without that gain of mental sight, the treasures of our public collections are regarded by the general visitor as mere curiosities." My object in writing has not been primarily to describe in detail the treasures displayed in the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, but rather to call attention to the various collections, and to prepare visitors to enjoy what is in store for them by outlining in a simple way the general features of the departments and exhibitions. I wish to acknowledge my indebtedness to Mr. Arthur Fairbanks, the Director of the Museum, for the valuable aid he has rendered me in my work. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Boston Museum of the Fine Arts: A Companion to the Catalogue Museum of the Fine Arts, and on my way encountered my friend starbuck. Starbuck is a fine fellow, one of the suburban country gentlemen who live with dignity, if not much profit, on a handsome farm not many miles from Boston. He belongs to a class I very much respect: like An teus, he seems to gain a wholesome strength from the mere touch of Mother Earth; and I suppose it is providentially arranged that the sweetness and dignity of the life of these farmers should not be compromised by fluctuations in the lottery of profit such as only befits the city. The class with us is increasing; and, though for this rural life our climate has discouragements which the more even one of our forefathers does not know, I hope public opinion will fortify their modest ambition by an approbation they cannot neglect. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Old Boston Museum Days IN writing this little volume, I have lived over again the days of the Old Museum, and as I recalled the faces and forms that peopled the stage of that famous old playhouse, I must confess to moments of sorrow recompensed by hours of joy. I doubt that even the most phil osophical spirit, with never a tear or a regret for the past, could delve into its recesses as I have done, without a longing for the Old Mu seum days that are gone. Yet the memory of those days will leave, for all time, something of value to remember and cherish. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Why should it always blossom and decay? Be the cause what it may the works of sculpture of which the casts here described are reproductions belong exclusively to a short period in the history of Italy; nor is it an arbitrary choice that has confined them to this period, but the fact that sculptures of equal merit were not produced there before and have not been produced there since. The ruder art of the eleventh and twelfth centuries in both northern and southern Italy was suddenly succeeded during the thirteenth by work far higher in quality both of skill and fancy.
