Book Multi Objective Stochastic Programming in Fuzzy Environments

Download or read book Multi Objective Stochastic Programming in Fuzzy Environments written by Biswas, Animesh and published by IGI Global. This book was released on 2019-03-22 with total page 434 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is frequently observed that most decision-making problems involve several objectives, and the aim of the decision makers is to find the best decision by fulfilling the aspiration levels of all the objectives. Multi-objective decision making is especially suitable for the design and planning steps and allows a decision maker to achieve the optimal or aspired goals by considering the various interactions of the given constraints. Multi-Objective Stochastic Programming in Fuzzy Environments discusses optimization problems with fuzzy random variables following several types of probability distributions and different types of fuzzy numbers with different defuzzification processes in probabilistic situations. The content within this publication examines such topics as waste management, agricultural systems, and fuzzy set theory. It is designed for academicians, researchers, and students.

Book Stochastic Modelling in Production Planning

Download or read book Stochastic Modelling in Production Planning written by Alexander Hübl and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-07-26 with total page 147 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Alexander Hübl develops models for production planning and analyzes performance indicators to investigate production system behaviour. He extends existing literature by considering the uncertainty of customer required lead time and processing times as well as by increasing the complexity of multi-machine multi-items production models. Results are on the one hand a decision support system for determining capacity and the further development of the production planning method Conwip. On the other hand, the author develops the JIT intensity and analytically proves the effects of dispatching rules on production lead time.

Book Neutrosophic Sets and Systems vol 50 2022

Download or read book Neutrosophic Sets and Systems vol 50 2022 written by Florentin Smarandache and published by Infinite Study. This book was released on 2022-06-01 with total page 674 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Neutrosophic Sets and Systems” has been created for publications on advanced studies in neutrosophy, neutrosophic set, neutrosophic logic, neutrosophic probability, neutrosophic statistics that started in 1995 and their applications in any field, such as the neutrosophic structures developed in algebra, geometry, topology, etc. Neutrosophy is a new branch of philosophy that studies the origin, nature, and scope of neutralities, as well as their interactions with different ideational spectra. This theory considers every notion or idea together with its opposite or negation and with their spectrum of neutralities in between them (i.e. notions or ideas supporting neither nor ). The and ideas together are referred to as . Neutrosophy is a generalization of Hegel's dialectics (the last one is based on and only). According to this theory every idea tends to be neutralized and balanced by and ideas - as a state of equilibrium. In a classical way , , are disjoint two by two. But, since in many cases the borders between notions are vague, imprecise, Sorites, it is possible that , , (and of course) have common parts two by two, or even all three of them as well. Neutrosophic Set and Neutrosophic Logic are generalizations of the fuzzy set and respectively fuzzy logic (especially of intuitionistic fuzzy set and respectively intuitionistic fuzzy logic).

Book Continuous Time Disaggregation in Hierarchical Production Planning

Download or read book Continuous Time Disaggregation in Hierarchical Production Planning written by Rami Salhab Al-Tamimi and published by . This book was released on 2006 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ABSTRACT: One of the objectives of disaggregation in hierarchical production planning is to minimize the setup costs incurred when changing production from one family to another. In this research, the setup costs are reduced by determining a production schedule that minimizes the number of setups during the planning horizon. Previous solutions to the disaggregation problem have considered discrete-time, and more recently continuous-time formulations. This research extends the continuous time disaggregation approach by incorporating production schedules allowing backorder. A mathematical formulation and a solution algorithm are presented and the computational complexity and convergence properties of the algorithm are discussed. Experimental results, using both deterministic and stochastic demand patterns, which demonstrate the efficacies of the solution approach are provided.

Book Production to Order

Download or read book Production to Order written by Nico Dellaert and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 167 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book, production rules are studied for situations which share some important elements. The most important one is that the products are manufactured according to customer specifications and they will not be manufactured unless they have been ordered. Other elements are the set-ups on the machines, which make a clustering of orders necessary, the backlogging of late orders, a production process with one bottle-neck and a stochastic demand. The purpose is to find a simple production rule, which offers possibilities for a simple adaptation to the varying wishes or to additional complications. The production rules under consideration are well-known heuristics such as the Silver-Meal heuristic and the Wagner-Whitin heuristic, which can be adapted for backlogging and for the stochastic demand. Also a new, simple rule is introduced: the (x,T)-rule. To determine and compare the performance of the production rules different techniques have been used, such as simulation, dynamic programming and markovian models. Among the situations that have been considered are situations with capacity restrictions, overtime possibilities and situations where the clients react to the performance of their orders.

Book Multi Stage Production Planning and Inventory Control

Download or read book Multi Stage Production Planning and Inventory Control written by Sven Axsäter and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 270 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This paper treats a two-echelon inventory system. The higher echelon is a single location reffered to as the depot, which places orders for supply of a single com modity. The lower echelon consists of several points, called the retailers, which are supplied by shipments from the depot, and at which random demands for the item occur. Stocks are reviewed and decisions are made periodically. Orders and/or shipments may each require a fixed lead time before reaching their respective desti nations. Section II gives a short literature review of distribution research. Section III introduces the multi-echelon distribution system together with the underlying as sumptions and gives a description of how this problem can be viewed as a Markovian Decision Process. Section IV discusses the concept of cost modifications in a distribution context. Section V presents the test-examples together with their optimal solutions and also gives the characteristic properties of these optimal solutions. These properties then will be used in section VI to give adapted ver sions of various heuristics which were used in assembly experiments previously and which will be tested against the test-examples.

Book Dynamic lot sizing problems with stochastic production output

Download or read book Dynamic lot sizing problems with stochastic production output written by Michael Kirste and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2017-06-23 with total page 250 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the real world, production systems are affected by external and internal uncertainties. Stochastic demand - an external uncertainty - arises mainly due to forecast errors and unknown behavior of customers in future. Internal uncertainties occur in situations where random yield, random production capacity, or stochastic processing times affect the productivity of a manufacturing system. The resulting stochastic production output is especially present in industries with modern and complex technologies as the semiconductor industry. This thesis provides model formulations and solution methods for capacitated dynamic lot sizing problems with stochastic demand and stochastic production output that can be used by practitioners within Manufacturing Resource Planning Systems (MRP), Capacitated Production Planning Systems (CPPS), and Advanced Planning Systems (APS). In all models, backordered demand is controlled with service levels. Numerical studies compare the solution methods and give managerial implications in presence of stochastic production output. This book addresses practitioners, consultants, and developers as well as students, lecturers, and researchers with focus on lot sizing, production planning, and supply chain management.

Book Hierarchical Production Planning in Dynamic Stochastic Manufacturing Systems

Download or read book Hierarchical Production Planning in Dynamic Stochastic Manufacturing Systems written by Qing Zhang and published by . This book was released on 2008 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This paper presents an asymptotic analysis of hierarchical manufacturing systems with stochastic demand and machines subject to breakdown and repair as the rate of change in machine states approaches infinity. This situation gives rise to a limiting problem in which the stochastic machine availability is replaced by the equilibrium mean availability. The value function for the original problem converges to the value function of the limiting problem. Moreover, a control for the original problem can be constructed from the optimal control of the limiting problem in a way which guarantees its asymptotic optimality. Asymptotic properties of the system trajectories are analyzed for both feedback and open loop controls in the system. The convergence rate of the value function for the original problem is found. This helps in providing an error estimate for the constructed asymptotically optimal control.

Book Hierarchical Production Planning in a Stochastic Manufacturing System with Long Run Average Cost

Download or read book Hierarchical Production Planning in a Stochastic Manufacturing System with Long Run Average Cost written by Suresh Sethi and published by . This book was released on 2008 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This paper deals with an asymptotic analysis of hierarchical production planning in stochastic manufacturing systems consisting of a single or parallel failure-prone machines producing a number of different products without attrition. The objective is to choose production rates over time in order to minimize the long-run average expected cost of production and surplus. As the rate of machine break-down and repair approaches infinity, the analysis results in a limiting problem in which the stochatic machine capacity is replaced by the equilibrium mean capacity. The optimal value for the original problem is proved to converge to the optimal value of the limiting problem. This suggests a heuristic to construct an open-loop control for the original stochastic problem from the open-loop control of the limiting deterministic problem. We as well as obtain error bound estimates for constructed open-loop controls.
